Hey guys,

I'm about to leave for boot camp, so my gear won't be touched for about 6-months, should I do anything different about storage? I assume I should remove all the batterys, but is it okay to leave it all in my gear bag?

Thanks,

Bobby

I would separate the batteries from the eqpt. Leakage will damage the eqpt.

Yes your gear bag is fine as long as its kept in a DRY place.
Keep it in a DRY place.  Fungus can ruin a good lens.
Pull batteries.
Pull out any leather straps.  These tend to bread fungus if conditions are right.

Other than that stay safe & get through boot & get some!!11!

Oh did I say keep your gear DRY.  I lost a nice Nikkor 300mm f4.5 ED IF lens to fungus.  It only took 4 weeks in my apartment while I lived in FL.

Yah, I keep my bag beside the couch in the living room, though I'll probably move it to my "office" to get it out my wife's way; fungus is my main concern too.

When and where are you going? I'm headed to benning on 29 march myself.
