Check here for the Black Rapid strap.
It works. Very Comfy. Much like a 1 point gun sling. BUT I'm waiting for somebodies camera tripod mount to get ripped out because the camera hangs upside down. Just my paranoid self. I'll stick to my Optec Straps. Pro Loop is my first choice. The loops make it easy to take straps on & off or reposition. Also the Bino / Cam Harness works pretty well too. I've used it for a 5D & 17~40 during a festival, worked really well. 7mm |

I got the FastenR-2 from outdoorphotogear.com; it was $12.00. The PIG Drop Slider Mark II single point rifle sling came from SKD; I paid about $30 for it. The sling works great for carrying an AR-15 (if you like single point slings) and it's nice for a camera too.
Edit: I did worry about the mount because the camera does hang upside down. I'm not so sure I'd trust it if I had a heavy camera with a heavy lens. For my purpose it works well. |

Here is my sling problem. I have the strap that came with my camera. However when I put my flash on the camera, it tends to flip upside down.. I've thought about rigging a cross strap that would run below the flash but I'm not sure if I would be able to bring the camera up into shooting position without strangling myself. ![]() Is there any kind of rig out there that solves this problem? |

Striker,
Do you have the battery grip on your camera? If so you can attach the strap to the camera's right side. One sling point on the camera & the other sling point on the grips strap lug. This will hang the camera 'grip up'. It works just different than what your used too. Then again there is this from Op Tech. It works where camera needs to be more secure from swinging around. 7mm |

Striker,
Just to add... I have a weak right forearm & developing arthritis in my right hand-bitch getting old at 47 -so I use the camera w/ a grip, Canon's E-1 Wrist strap-attached to the grip & body along w/ the OpTech Pro Loop strap.
The wrist strap keeps me from having to maintain a death grip on the camera & the neoprene neck strap takes a load off my arm when it needs. Tote a 5D w/ a grip, 70~200 f2.8 IS & mounted 580 for 4+ hours & you do what you gotta do. 7mm |
