Yeah? Is this any good? What's it comparable to? Comparable to nothing. You need team work to win You need HMGs, M4s, snipers, medics, repair guys You need a strategy too Some compare it to COD but COD is for teens that smash buttons. As soon as I purchased MAG i stopped play COD because I found it too elementary. |

The silence in this thread pertaining to "is it good" is why Iam waiting for bad company 2. Cool idea though but I'll wait for an old $30 copy. I personally can't stand the direction EA has taken the BF series. When the original 1942 and expansion packs came out I was all over them. Now the Bad Company's just don't have the same feeling of BF to me. MAG is indeed a good game. This is coming for a MW2 on 360 player. |

I got tired of playing MW2 with all the little hyper-active knuckleheads on kamikaze missions deep into your spawn with a lightweight kit and a fricken knife. MAG requires thought, and tactics really can win the day. I'm digging it so far. I started as a sniper, but re-speced as a heavy machine gunner with med kit. Now I can get XP around the FRAGO and get good kit by playing smart, and being part of a good squad. Nice long games with no lack of action or targets. I'd buy it again. |

So should I get it or what??? Its pretty decent, i like the size of the maps, not a cramped up cluster fuck like COD. Plus spawn camping is not possible because you cant get into a spawn area you can only leave it. What is it like??? Battlfield 2? or COD? or Socom or Killzone??? |

Vegas..I ain't played with you in forever. It's more team based like a BF game as opposed to one player can win the match in COD. Game modes are: TDM Sabotage = Capture 2 towers and then move to the main obj, or you defend towers. Acquisition = CTF. Instead of flags you are capturing or defending vehicles Domination = One team defends or attacks objectives in a certain order to the main objective. I play domination over all the others. More XP and theres always something going on. It is the most team based as you have to rely on 3 other platoons (platoons are 4 squads. 8 people in each squad) to do their job for your PMC to win the map. Each squad has a squad leader that can call in artillery for defenders or air strikes and UAVs for attackers. Each platoon has a platoon leader. They get more precise and better air strikes for attackers, and I haven't been platoon leader for defenders yet. Nor have I been Officer in Charge that for everybody. So maybe somebody can fill that in. -fracture |

I'm just starting MAG. Not having too much fun playing right now with random people who don't have mics. I play on Valor, PSN is WSUXJer. To me, Sony screwed up not including at least some cheapo mic in the box. Quoted:
You can use any blue tooth mic and most usb mics on it. This. I used my Jawbone for my cell phone as a headset/mic for my PS3, worked great. I ended up picking up a USB gaming headset though. Works on PS3/360/PC and I can listen to movies/play games at night without waking the wife or daughter. |

I went through 4 or 5 Bluetooth headsets before i found a good one, i was returning them to Wm every few days. The one i finally kept was the one that came with SOCOM. |
| Machine gunner/medic as well. daddysm4 on Valor. Send me an invite as I'm tired of playing with squads where 6 of the 8 members sit on a hill in the rear while 2 members actually try to complete the correct objective. No mic yet but will try to hook up the bluetooth today. |

I just picked this up last night. Joined Valor, started messing around with the training games.
So far I've only played Assault/Deathmatch/Whatever, and outside of getting the controls down, I'm trying to figure out the right way to go about this game. I know that this isn't MW2, some run and gun fest, that you need tactics and strategy to win. But no one on my teams last night were doing much talking (I don't even think there was an OIC/PL/SL), so I was sitting there looking for targets (getting my ass kicked as I got used to the controls), saying to myself "there's gotta be more to it than this, but what?" Then there's the whole upgrades aspect. What's a balanced approach to the upgrade system here that would ensure you didn't screw yourself over by favoring certain upgrades over more important ones? The reason I ask here rather than hit up an FAQ is because different opinions = different perspectives of approach, and seeing as I just got into this, I'd like as many ways to approach this game as possible. |

Starting out, I think the best bet is to go medic / light machine gun. Healing gives lots of experience right off the bat.
Don't worry about being stuck with a particular skillset, because you have "respec" points that you can use to reset your skill tree and re-allocate. The first time you do this costs 1000 respec points, then 2,000, then 3,000. After that, it's always going to cost 3,000. As for the lack of communication and people not working together, you aren't going to find that too much on the first map. If you find yourself in a good squad that communicates, or find yourself with a clan that communicates, it's almost a given that you will dominate the map. If you can get an entire squad to be cohesive, stay within about 10m or so of each other, and calling targets, it's devastating. Toss a couple of medics in there, and you can hold a position for a very long time. I tried adding you yesterday and it said your PSN ID could not be found. Typo? |

No typo, you sure you spelled it correct? I don;t think i will be on tonight due to some tv I want to watch but I will add you if not already friended and show you how to roll through this game. We (as Valor) suck at certain games because we can not get enough to work together but Sabotage we hold down. We usually have a good clan going on saturday nights. I have noticed that at night during the weekends is better and also running with larger clans. If they have a squad try to get in it or the accompanied squad. This game is ALL TEAM WORK. not question about it. You can run into an objective and own but nly until his buddies get healed or res-d than you need good team work. Any-who I will hit you up when I am on next. 56 or 57 HMG is the way. I also have medic kit all the way and athleticism, I am not steady on a trigger so more firepower the better lol |
I play on Valor, PSN is WSUXJer.
