My current logitech mx500 is poopin out on me, and I need a new mouse. Was wondering about the hives idea on a GOOD gaming mouse is. I'm currently considering a logitech g5. Any pros/cons? Also what do you say?

I prefer the traditional mice myself, if I were you I would get the standard optical Microsoft mouse with the cord.  $15-20.

Wired: Logitech G5
Wireless: Logitech G7

I was stuck on MS intellimouse explorers and the like for many years, and thought wireless mice were evil.  I finally tried one at a buddies house for a day, and immediately went out and bought one.  I could not be happier.

I'm strongly considering a g5, as wireless give me a measurable lag while in game.

I have a G5 and I LOVE it. A buddy of mine has the Razor Copperhead/Diamondback (whatever it is) and I really dont care for it; to me the buttons are too big and uncomfortable.

i have been using a microsoft intellimouse explorer 3.0 since they came out. the word perfect comes to mind, i love the feel and it has all the right buttons in all the right places. after maybe 3 years or so the only complaint i have is that the little clicks on the scroll wheel are almost non existent. the whole gaming mouse thing is a joke, just find something that feels good and works.

I have a Razer Copperhead and it kicks ass! On the fly sensitivity changes, up to 2000 dpi (on the fly changing too) and it is smooth as butter. Definitely recommend one to anyone.

I've been using a Logitech MX518 for the past couple of years since it is closest to the mouse style I've been using for years before it that I'm used to. The MX518 is a good gaming mouse. It's got 3 sensitivity settings, though I've not found it to be very useful. I like all of my games to be consistent with mouse sensitivity. I wish there was more consistency with the values they assign to sensitivity in games. Like in Valve/Source games I like it to be right at 8.0 (I guess this is slow for some people).

Microsoft has a new Sidewinder mouse out, though I'm not sure how good it is. It looks kinda cool though.

I had an intelimouse explorer, but the chord on it broke so I bought a logitech generic optical mouse.  That worked until I was playing battlefield 2 a few years ago and the thing was rubber banding when I would try to swivel the tank turret to fast.  So I upgraded to a mx500 and then a mx518.  The mx518 is a solid mouse.
