Yeah DCS MP has died out significantly recently many people are pissed about the Razbam situation still being unresolved. Amusingly Razbam may partner with Microprose for falcon5. That would a be a swift kick in ED's nuts. ED is still pushing out half baked crap as well... Iraq map, missing Iranian airbases, give me a break, one of the largest and the longest air war in the region, and ED is like Nah... Go bomb a toyota... Fuck that. This thread is yet another data point that people are just fed up with it all. https://forum.dcs.world/topic/361226-dcs-players-have-had-enough-a-youtubers-opinion/ |

I can't believe they are going to try for a 'full Fidelity' F35A. I imagine stealth will be horribly broken and one sided and they can't even make a functional EM CON button in the hornet |

There’s no way in hell they can model the F-35 to any kind of realistic standard. Might as well develop DCS: X-Wing at this point. |

All the clamor for the most modern stuff guarantees rampant speculation. You just can't get full fidelity because so much of it is classified. A cut off year where you can get all the documentation for everything would be best for accuracy, but cuts a lot of the potential market who want today's stuff. I'd be OK with an early '80's or late '70's cut-off, though it puts red-air at a disadvantage in a lot of ways. The game is also hurt, I think, by single examples of planes with multitudes of versions. And it's always the last version of the originating nation, it seems. The MiG-21PF and MiG-21-F-13 would be a good planes to have. Someone was (is?) working on the F-8J crusader when the F-8E is the main version. The Phantom is really two planes when you divide Navy/Air Force. Even so the F-4E changes many times in USAF service. Many more outside, especially with the mods that Israeli, Greece and Turkey flew. The anachronisms add up and it bugs me. |

An F35, with 0 documentation, 0 SME input, aside from some youtube videos of the Lockmart sim, is gonna be fucking LOFL level bad. This is such a desperate cash grab for them its not even funny. Like none of the maps they put out have seen an update this year, the hook is still very early EA... ED radars are still modeled like trash despite the 2 year long "rework". Its just sad how its falling apart. And Razgate is STILL ongoing. |

My understanding is that they're a Russian company that operates under Russian law and the Russian government is pretty unwilling to let them use the modern designs. Or something to that effect |

One of their two co-founders was Russian (the other a Brit), and most of their programming was done in Moscow (this is back in the early 90's), with the rest of the operation working out of the UK. In 2018, the Russian dude died, and they decamped to Switzerland. They've got some contractors still in Russia (and Belarus), but the bulk of the work is done in the US, UK, Italy, Spain, Germany, etc. Doubt the Russian .gov has any input into their stuff, these days. |

Thanks for the clarification. I'm just kind of repeating what I've read on Reddit in the past couple days. I only started playing DCS about 2 weeks ago. |

LOL nope. The entire core ED coding team is in Moscow, BST was in belarus, they also had some guys in Ukraine prior to recent unpleasantness. They literally have a 1 room office in switzerland where Nicks son has a "make work" job. They had a few guys in Dubai for a while not sure now. 3rd parties are all over the place, the only Euros are the 3rd parties. |

Though its also an excuse they use to not make modules they don't think will sell well, and they don't think most Soviet era stuff would sell well, so they let 3rd parties do those. The mig-29 will be the interesting test case. Their CEO said if it sells well, they might consider other stuff. If not, red air is dead from ED anyway. And the only other developer capable of doing it was Razbam, and they are most likely done with DCS depending on how everything shakes out. |

And 0 nations are giving fucking ED a single document on the F35 lest they want to stop flying it or any other US aircraft ever again... Literally anyone that actually knows about this from F35 pilots to people that work for these contractors is laughing their asses off over this. Any "its muh realz" arguments are coming from people that stand to try to make money off EDs BS. Its gonna be arcade mode, and well for plenty of people thats "fine". But any claims of realism are a joke. ED can't fucking model IR blocking clouds, much less how something like DAS or EOTS works. |

The sad thing about the 15C is that its gonna be some 2005 or whenever version. Loong after it was actually king shit of the air in the 80's and 90's, and ED is not budging on making an older one. So like whee, peak realism, go fly CAP against the Taliban or whatever the fuck. Or well, maybe I guess we might invade europe/greenland at this point so the EF/15C matchup might be relevant. The worse part of this ED told Grinnelli to pound sand when he asked if he could make an 70s/early 80's F15A. |

Literally I don't care about the F-35 in DCS. It will be made up simple as. Arcade plane. ED is doing it a) because they are likely broke, and b) to compete with Falcon5 which they see as "threat" even though no one really knows what it will look like. I think the F35 IRL is an amazing jet. But there is little point to in DCS, plus ED has always tried to hang their hat on "realism" which well at least with that module is a joke. I hope they actually do good with the mig29 mostly, now that they manage to kill the mig23. I'm also dubious on the F15C they announced as well, cuz once again, whats the point, maybe to fight the Eurofighter? |
