Yep!

I'll post some media later.

It seems the biggest changes to the series are:

- Science research rate is now affected by your civ.  I.E. if you don't have a coastal city it will take longer for harbor/boating research.  Or if you live near mountains you can research mining faster etc.

- Cities have districts that you unlock over the game and the # is determined by population.  You can decide which district should specialize in (science, military fort, gold etc etc)

- City buildings take up real space on the map, so if someone is building a Wonder you can just see it in plain sight without having to use espionage.

- A.I. leaders will tend to behave like their real life counterpart but will have a random "trait" assigned to them.  Which means if that person like Wonders, and you start out producing Wonders he will go to war with you.

- Ability to add support units to a military units tile.  Civilian units can be escorted directly by military units now.  Also you can merge "anti-tank or anti-air" support units with regular military units.

- Can now "stack" troops to form a "corps".  However the new stack is weaker than two individual units.

- New game engine.

I think the biggest chance is cities are now more personal with the districts and buildings showing up on the world map.

Damn time to start saving those vacay days

These are hi rez screenshots btw.

Hmmm dunno if I like what's proposed.   But more importantly... Is it going to be so freakin slow to load and run turns likev5 was?

Civ4 is still the pinnacle of just-one-more-turn.

Good. The big fat cross was atrocious and hexagons add so much more to unit movement and positioning. I despise having to follow a set of strict rules to succeed in a strategy game.

This looks to have the supreme combat of Civ Rev with modified city development. I'm extremely excited to see city improvements occupying the grid. Pillaging may be useful now.

Super stoked for this title.

I just hope they get more sci-fi with it but not go overboard.

Anyone remember Beyond the Sword?

I hope they get rid of the over-aggressive corruption penalties that killed all wide strategies.  Empty maps were one of the worst parts of V.
