My Xbox One is less than 3 months old and both controllers that I got with the system will disconnect during game play, a LOT. Both controllers are up to date. It does not happen if the are wired directly to the box.

I have reset.the console and kept the games and then did a fill reset and had to reinstall everything...

I went today and got a new controller, set it up and got the update taken care off and it still disconnects.

I moved the box out from under the tv with the hope that there would be better ventilation and less direct interference from the tv or the dish network box.

It still does it...

I am at my motherfucking wits end with this bullshit and almost wish I had never picked up a frickin game system.

So what can I try before I just say fuck it and send the whole damn thing back??

Have you contacted tech support already?

If it's a pain to contact them, my first call would be to the local geeksquad people at betbuy.  See if they have encountered that issue before.

Are you using AA batteries or the play and charge kit with its rechargeable battery pack?

I have a lot of disconnect issues even using good AA batteries.  It's mostly been rectified with the battery pack that comes in the play and charge kit.

That said if I'm trying hard and doing something I don't want to fail at, I normally keep my controller plugged in anyways.  YMMV.

I have a day one console and the day one controller is the best for staying connected.  My titanfall is having issues staying connected.
