Never really completely finished my PC how I wanted it. I currently have a Storm Stryker case, but I'm not really happy with it. So I bought an NZXT H440. Wanted something a little smaller, and it was $118.

Along with the case, I bought an H105 to upgrade from my H100, some extra Corsair SP120 fans since I'll have more fans than my Stryker has. I hope the H440 works well. It doesn't have the best ventilation, but I'm hoping the static pressure fans will help.

Also purchased the Acer 27" 144hz G-Sync 1440P IPS monitor to replace my old cheap (free) 17" 1280x1024 TN monitors (x3). I know the picture will be much better, I just hope it doesn't feel like I'm looking through a tunnel after having 3 17" screen in surround at 3840x1024.

I never finished sleeving all my cables...hopefully I'll finish this time

I guess the only thing I'd like to finish it is a 1T SSD (as side from a full custom water cooling loop...but I don't have the time, money or patience right now).

Current hardware:

Motherboard: Asus Maximus 6 Extreme

CPU: i7-4770k

RAM: Corsair Dominator Platinum 2133 16gb (4x4)

GPU 1: Evga 780 Ti SC ACX 2.0 3gb

GPU 2: Evga 780 Ti SC 3GB

PSU: Corsair AX1200

OS drive: Samsung 840 Pro 256gb (Win 8.1)

Storage drive: Seagate 1T HDD

Spare drive: Crucial M550 256gb (got it on sale for $65...it was a steal. I just have a few games on it for now)

I've been extremely happy with my 1440p monitor.  My single 780 drives it pretty well with a moderate overclock.

I really want 4k, but even the SLI Titan X figures I've seen aren't that great.  Metro Last Light cranked up was only getting 35fps.  Maybe in a couple of years we will have the power to get 60+ fps at 4k.

Ehh, with 4k monitors being so inexpensive it would have been worth a shot.

I think you'll love the 1440p monitor over 1080p.  I love mine, and my 780 does a great job pushing all those pixels.

4K isn't there yet.

GPU power isn't there yet for current and future AAA titles in 4k. By the time it is, monitor tech will be improved and cheaper also.

Right on man, I also think the video cards aren't really ready for the 4k either.

lol

On that note, even next gen hardware probably will still require a dual card setup for 4k. A shrink to 10nm might not be enough for affordable single card 4k at +60fps. With all the fabs having problems going below 10nm it's going to be at least +5yrs before we see any more significant gains after this upcoming die shrink.

Takes a bit more than a couple 780s to run the heavy hitters at 4k without dialing back graphics settings. IMO, graphics hardware hasn't yet caught up with that resolution. Yeah you can tri Fire or 3 way sli it, but that an enormously expensive setup that you may run into scaling issues with.

Got the rest of the stuff in today. Transplanted everything over. Had some isssues with my memory...it said I had no memory installed (Q code 55). Went through with all 4 sticks in every socket and they all worked fine by themselves, and in pairs. Finally it booted with all 4 sticks...not sure what the deal was, but it works now.

Kinda miss the bigger Storm Styker...only really because I had my OC panel in a front pay so I could monitor temps. The H440 doesn't have 5.25 bays, but I think I'll live. I just need to get a USB CD drive for later uses.

The H440 is more quiet than the Stryker, but it's also smaller. Not a lot of room for cable management, which I have yet to do. That will be a project for tomorrow I guess. No pics yet. Computer room has computer guts strolled out everywhere.

I've got to move soon, so if anyone in East Texas wants a Cooler Master Storm Stryker case (partially gutted innards) for a modding project, it's yours.

Also, coming from a little 17" 1024 monitor (x3), to a 27" 1440p IPS monitor with G-sync (I think it does 3D also?) with 144hz....its prett fuuuking awesome. I do miss multiple monitors for productivity. I'll need to pick up a secondary (and maybe even 2) 27" 1440p monitors sometime...however..not this exact monitor...$750
