Well, I went and got Splinter Cell, the game I have been talking about for what seems like forever. Well, I will be danmed if it isn't the biggest POS. I can't get the things to run on any of my 3 computers. I get general protection fauls and it drops me to the desktop even before I get to the main screen in it. I have updated drivers, new video cards, new systems. This game is the most dissapointing thing I have ever seen. Seems that UBI-Soft is gonna lose alot of customers on this one. Anyone else buy the game? Does yours work? Seems like many many many people are having the same problem as I. Let me know. |

Nope no problems, but then I played Splinter Cell on the XBOX. I gave up getting games for the PC, because I get tired of shelling out fifty bucks for a game that might or might not run on my system. With the XBOX, you get alot of the mainline PC games...Splinter Cell, Ghost Recon, Medal Of Honor (knockoff), Hitmn 2, etc. Plus you can play games like Halo, hell that game alone is worth the price of getting a XBOX. Plus if you have broadband you can play online with some of them to. |

I finally got it to work on my computer. I have neer tweak my settings sooo much in my life. Flash BIOS on MB and VC. Adjusted settings in the BIOS. Updated drivers, uninstalled older drivers, down graded my directx drivers, removed hardware, you name it, I did it. The game is excellent! Once you get it to work it works good. Ohhh, also, I uninstalled the patch that was supposed to fix all the prblems. My brother has yet to get it working and actually returned the game. He has 2 systems and a CS degree. Great game, pain in the toosh to get running. |
| you think thats bad? I once bought a combat flight sim called ef2000 it took 3 months lots of patience and downloading dozens of upgrades and drivers to even get the thing running. and it didnt help that it ran on DOS. but once i got it installed i loved it. best combat jetsim of all time id say. |
