Fully expecting to get called a nerd for this...But does anyone else play? I played throughout high school and then left for a few years. Recently a friend of mine said they released a version of Runescape as it was in 2007 (the hay days!). I hopped on and have been messing around, tried playing the newest version but couldn't get into it.
Anyone else play currently or in the past? |

Damn I might have to give it a try again. I think I started back in like 2002. Sold my account for $300 so I'm glad you have to make a new one for these "old" servers |

I think it might be RS3 now, but it stands for Evolution of Combat. As far as I can tell it's when Runescape started to go downhill and lose lots of veteran players. Completely changed the dynamic of how the game is played. |

I honestly like the game when you couldn't make it fullscreen and the graphics were terrible. It was simple but there was a lot to do |

RS2 was the first version that I played.

yea and it allowed so much more people in open pvp then diablo..didn't even cost anything(d2 needed a cd key/cd to play)..man, I had a really good pker twink in 2004 or so, had protect from melee spell and a very high ranged skill and everything in high 20s if I remember. There was an altar in the wilderness where about 20 bones would spawn and you could just make circles/train ur prayer skill as a level 1...by level 10 you would have 50 prayer if it was the only thing you trained. I can only guess those bone spawns are removed as well as the altar because I read they re-designed the wilderness a few years ago
that toon was an archer....man , that class was so braindead I don't suggest buying wow, they killed the game with cataclysm by removing a lot of content/simplifying it to the point what a toddler can be good@ it ..buuuut~with that being said new xpac coming out really soon so id give it a try, there is still a trial by the way now it is infinite you don't need a friend's invite to get it either and it doesn't last 10 days |
| I started playing RS2 back when I was in 5th or 6th grade (2002ish) because my friends would talk about it incessantly at lunch. I got sick of not knowing what they were talking about, so I created an account and could soon take them all in multi-combat. Still have the original account and log in occasionally when I'm really bored. Just can't get into the new stuff and don't want to pay for the 2007 version. |
