I've been playing the demo all evening.  I like it so far.  More of the same game play, which is perfect!

The controls feel a bit tighter, always good.

I like how all the weapons have dot sights now, and the supressor on the one assault rifle was a nice addition.  While I don't want the game to go all CoD, I am hoping for the ability to 'build' different load outs with different accessories.

I'm curious to see how the leveling up and Unlocks work out.  I haven't played much KZ2 online (only aobut 10 hours, ranked up to Lt) so I'm not sure how it works overall anyway.  I did think the rank matching in 2 worked out very well.  It was very nice to always be playing against people of similar skill levels.  Hope that continues with 3.

Anyone got Move and tried this yet?  I really really like the assault rifle controller, and the idea of being able to use it in a FPS on my TV while ducking behind the couch for cover while wearing all my 3 gun gear is awesome ( ), but I can't justify dropping out 150-ish bucks for 1 game!  Plus, I keep hearing mixed reviews on it.  Some people say it is 'Teh Aewsomuz!' while others say 'Meh, it's a bit better than a Wii-mote'.

Anyway, I am looking forward to the full game!  Have it pre-ordered, and it took all of my anime otaku-ness to not go for the $130 Special Edition with the helmet and figure.

(we definitely need to get an Arf Clan started when it launches)

I downloaded it but it shit the bed everytime I'd try to log in.  everything would freeze up during the connecting screen, let it sit for 10 minutes and got nothing.  I'll give it try again tonight.

The tactician is pretty cool.  I also like how the marksman can have silent footsteps.

About the only complaints I have about it so far are the sounds, while sounding much better, are all a bit too Loud, especially the LMGs.  And, the Death Cries are a bit over the top, touch too loud, and too long.

Melee seems to have a bit more of a reach, that might be nasty/abused in MP.  Although, I did watch a Bot sniper cloaked near a flag station and knife the speaker carrier right before he turned it in.  LoL.  I'm really glad they have Bots.  I'm not always up for getting my ass kicked online by 14 year olds, so it's nice to be able to beat up on some AIs occasionally.  ;)

I agree with you about the death wailing.  It's too loud and lasts too long.

Also, you're right about. The melée but I dont think people have figured that out yet.  I get most melée kills almos every match.

I like it so far. The graphics are amazing and the map is good. I have been using the Engineer and Marksman the most. I think the death cries are annoying hopefully they tone those down. I hope they add a Hardcore mode where it does not take an entire mag to bring someone down.

Anyone else having a hard time connecting?

I haven't played today but last night I had issues connecting... I had to reset the game  a few times before it would connect.

Haven't played it yet, just too drugged up to do shooters right now (post-surgery pain, don't worry, I'm not a druggie), but I fully intend to. I've been getting really sick of console shooters (I lasted two days in Black Ops' multiplayer before becoming bored to death of it), but Killzone 3 I cannot wait for. I was one of those maniacs who got 100% of the trophies on Killzone 2 including all DLC, so you can imagine I'm stoked for KZ3. Medic, sometimes with the engineer secondary specialty instead of the medic's secondary, used to be my class of choice; I liked hanging back a little bit and supporting my guys, whether with bullets, bandages, bringing them back to life, or repairing and building ammo crates and mounted machineguns.

Just a heads up to all you guys, get on PlayStation Home and go to Central Plaza. If you complete all 9 challenges in the Killzone 3 mini-game on there, you get a PSN voucher code for 3 free multiplayer unlock points for when the retail game ships. Only took me a couple hours, plus my Home dude is now decked out as an ISA badass for free to boot.

I will check out the Home thing.  I always forget about that.  I saw on the Store if you preorder the game via the Store, you get a jetpack for your home avatar.  I already preordered via Gamestop though.

I did get to play for a few hours online yesterday late afternoon.  It's a lot of fun, and yeah, I think they need to tone down the reach of the melee.  I was starting to get sick of every other time I spawned, I'd get knifed by a cloaked dude.

And, they don't seem to have the rank-matching enabled, or they have increased the range.  Had a few Lt's just raping all of us privates.  Kind of sucked.  I think I am a Lance Corporal 2 or 3 now.  Working on engineers.  I love running around setting up turrrets, repairing ammo stations, and keeping choke points, well choked.  :D

I like the addition of the Operations gametype.  Will be interesting to see how that develops in real life.  Most of the other games I've played with that type of match, it just becomes a stalemate after a couple weeks when everyone learns the strategy for each map.  I still prefer the Warzone style with the changing objectives.

They definitely don't have rank matching turned on, or at least not implemented well.  Last night, I played Ops.  I was the highest ranking member on my team, an Impressive Corporal 2.  The opposing team was made up almost entirely of LTs and Captains.  The Rapeage was heavy.  It did allow me to make it into the cutscene though, I was the only guy to get charges places on the first objective.  Go Go Gadget Engineer!

Definitely looking forward to the full release!  I am still severely tempted to change my pre-order to the helghast special edition...

What do you get for the special edition?

Also, I tried the mini games in the PS3 Plaza and I can't beat the level 3 wave one.  Any tips?

Special Editon has a figure of a cloaking marksman, an artbook, and a kick ass mini-helghast helmet that the game and book go inside of.  It's $130.  That's a chunk of change, but the helmet and figure are pretty cool.  (I have a thing for knick-knacks like that.) But I am holding out with just the regular edition for now.  Figure I can probably snag the helmet and figure off ebay or something in the future.

I can't get through Wave 2.  Although I only gave it a few tries. Got to the drop ship, and my hand was hurting after all the single shot shooting.  Cripes!  I will try to get through the rest this weekend.  Give my avatar dude some cool clothes at least.

Do the challenges for each wave if you can manage them (the ones on the far right when you're looking at the challenge list). I can't remember which one is which, but they are EXTREMELY worth it for what they give you. You get an extra 1 or 2 bars of health for one of them, permanent double damage for another, and speed reload (which is almost instant) for the third. Wave 3 is nigh impossible otherwise, but with those three, all turned on, it becomes a breeze.

You could also try teaming up with a friend or two and having them run around collect supply crates for you while you do each wave. Extra health, an assault rifle instead of a pistol, rocket launchers, etc. make it a lot easier.

For the drop ship on wave 2, you don't need to kill it; all it does is give you 10K points. If you make sure you don't take damage, it'll only take off one bar of health and then be gone. Also, if you want to fire twice as fast, both R1 and X are shoot... trying pressing both at the same time. Gets off shots faster than just hammering one button.

Probably the hardest one to get is the assist one for giving a supply crate to someone who then goes on to beat wave 3. That one took more time than all the others put together, but I finally got it. I can do wave 3 without even trying since I have those bonuses though, so if you guys are having trouble, we could all get on together and I can do wave 3 while you guys collect crates, then as soon as I beat it, you get the challenge.

I just started playing this last night.  I've had Killzone 2 for a while, but for some reason, never really gave the multiplayer a chance.

Now, I think I've finally found something that can break my Black Ops addiction .

The sounds are indeed LOUD.  I'm used to 'sound-whoring' on Call of Duty games using headphones, but that seems to be considerably harder in this.  When someone's shooting an LMG next to me, I can't even hear myself think.  Melee does have a pretty decent range, but seems to require more precise 'aim' than the knife in CoD.  I haven't yet been frustrated by constantly running 'melee people'.

The weapons seem to be a lot more 'role specific' in this, which I like.  Unlike CoD, SMGs can't effectively shoot across the entire map.  I like how the marksman are actually encouraged to snipe, and not jump off buildings while doing 360s and quickscoping .

The different classes and their abilities are also awesome.  Overall, I'm very surprised how amazingly fun this is.

I'm definitely pre-ordering today.

Wasn't made to be an eotech. While it shares resemblance in design, KZ2 had it as a green dot only with no halo. It washed out terribly from the dynamic lighting and now they went to the mini cross hair

Yeah, Killzone 2 was great... I retired from it after about 6 months because I had just played the ever-lovin' shit out of it, but it was a very unique and very rewarding experience. The idiotic bullshit that goes on in COD/Halo always seemed extremely rare in KZ2 just due to how the game works, which was fricking great... I can't play COD online anymore because whatever enjoyment from that gameplay style there was to be had, I got it all with COD4. Can't stick with it anymore. I'm VERY looking forward to Killzone 3 though.

I've only played a couple hours, but let me see if I have this correct:

Tacticians can see through Infiltrators disguises when using their 'mark targets' ability (as in, Infiltrators are still marked with a blue X, even when disguised).

Tacticians cannot see fully cloaked Marksmen (are Marksmen visible to the Tactician when they're partially cloaked/ moving?)

Two opposing, disguised Infiltrators cannot automatically 'see through' each others disguise.  They have to move their reticle over the player and see if it turns red, just like everyone else.

Right?

Marksmen are visible to everyone when they are moving.

IMO, it is best to keep the marksman's radar ability at level 2 because at level 3, the scatter alerts enemies to a marksman in the area.

In that it's the big mascot action shooter for the platform, yes.

Gameplay-wise, no; Killzone and Halo play very differently.
