I have a lot of trouble not arching my back when I'm doing pushups, is there any trick to keeping my neck/back/legs aligned and flat?

Are you looking down at the ground?  Try looking straight ahead, this will also allow you to go lower.

do more core workouts....once you strengthen up those muscles it's not hard to hold a plank pose for a while.  I've held one for almost 10min....though I was shaking like a freaking leaf in the wind towards the end trying to hold it.

Arching meaning towards the ground or the sky?

Towards the sky.

When you get on your hands and toes, stick your chest OUT, like your sternum is being sucked towards the ground while your arms resist it.  Your back will cave in and you'll be a little closer to the ground for touch-n-go.
