crossfit while wearing a mask!? don't get me wrong, he's a bad mother, but damn that!!

Much respect, but the hosedragger and the JBTs need to learn how to clean.

This WOD isn't about cleaning, it's about thrusters and pullups.  Cleaning is the least of their worries with the extra weight, heat stress, CO2 retention, loss of ROM, etc.  It never fails, but somebody has to throw their 2 cents in to pick somebody apart.

Sheesh, I would need a bottle change and 20-25 minutes, I need to work my cardio more. Pretty impressive.

Not a firefighter but I've went through one of those bottles in about 7 minutes running stairs.  Sucks!

Well while I'm at it, they need to learn how to front squat.  Since 2/3 of thrusters are cleans and front squats, I'll have my critique cake and eat it, too.

Just did 4miles on treadmill on mask (filter) I can't imagine doing what he did, and I took a couple walking breaks.

ETA:  This thread motivated me to Get Some by the way.

Haha - I'm good friends with one of the guys in the article.  He actually sent me the link.

To the OP: how did you hear about this and get the article?  Small world.

Yeah, I'm curious about how you found it and why you decided to post it... Seeing how I wrote/filmed it... Thanks for the plug!

Which one?  (whoops, RIF) Both are well done. Welcome to AR15.com.

Link was sent to me from some work buds.

I think I just threw up a little while watching it.  Now only if I had a crossfit affiliate near me.

You don't NEED a CrossFit Affiliate. Adjust the WOD's based on what you have available. That's what we do in that gym from the video. The bumper plates were borrowed for that WOD, we don't have them in the gym itself.

For someone starting out, an affiliate is a great idea.  Form is paramount and if you just dive into WODs without knowing the movements, you aren't doing yourself any favors.

I absolutely agree. I started out on my own, then went to an affiliate and it was worth it. I tell people that even though paying for the affiliate and trainer(s) is expensive, suck it up for a month. You'll learn a ton and get a much better understanding of how to get it done.

I would like to be with an affiliate to start out.  That just makes sense.

Man there's a CrossFit here in Macon and he has a neet setup for a small place, think he said he has about 21 members the thing is his rates are $100 a month per person, $75 with partner, thats about $55 a month higher than the two other big gym's in the area and they have just about everything you can think of even kettles, dip stations, rings and ropes. Just seem high to me.

The reason it's higher than the average gym is that a typical CrossFit Gym is not like a typical "Globo" Gym. CrossFit gyms are usually set up so that you do a specific workout under the guidance of a CrossFit certified trainer, either one-on-one or in a group class setting. It's not like Globo Gym where you just go in whenever you want and do whatever you want. With CrossFit you're paying not only for the facility and the equipment, but for the training and expertise. When you look at what the rates are at  Globo Gym for personal training, you'll realize what a value the CrossFit Gym is.

For example:

$100/month for CrossFit Gym membership,

5 days a week x 4 weeks at 1 hour per day = 20 hours of gym time for the month,

$100 / 20 hours = $5.00 per hour for personal training!

I have seen some CrossFit gyms that offer a reduced rate for just facility access, but I don't know how common that is.
