Where could someone obtain this magical substance in the U.S. nowadays? Is it considered a controlled substance now, or is it just illegal to sell it over the counter in this country? I heard you could order it from Canada? Anyone know, and if so send me a link to a site that has it. I'm looking for stacker 2's with ephedra. I will admit when they were on the shelves here I used to abuse them a little, but I have since reformed my ways, and realize that ephedra is a good thing if used properly. |
It's not a controlled substance and it's not illegal to possess. My understanding is that the FDA made it illegal to sell. It is likely illegal to import as well. There are better and safer legal alternatives for a stimulant. |

Ephedrine is in Bronkaid and Primatine tablets, which can both be purchased at just about any pharmacy (ask for it; they usually keep it behind the counter). There isn't really anything over the counter that works better than EC. fwiw, the suspicious deaths occured with Ephedra (the herb) and not Ephedrine (an extract). |

Do a search with Google. You can still find places that ship it. Like a lot of people, I use it to help me sleep. I snore and wake-up a lot less often when taking it. Because it is a very mild stimulant, it can make it a little harder to get to sleep, but once I get to sleep I sleep much better since I can breath easier.z |
He's asking about the herb though. I big to differ, check out Ergopharm AMP with geranimine (there are also several generic versions that cost much less). Works much better than EC for me. |

I know where to get some. I just can't remember the name of the supplement or the name of the website. I do remember that it works REALLY fucking well. I'll see if my wife remembers what it was called. Its still out there. Its not illegal either, its just hard to find someone who will sell it. All the hysteria scared everyone off. |

the FDA did (foolishly) ban it for a time in reaction to a handful of ephedra related deaths in which the users ingested many many many times the safe suggested dosage. Since then the FDA ruling was challenged and subsequentely overturned. So Ephedra is once again completely legal to buy sell and possess, however many of the big time diet fad companies such as xenadrine/ripped fuel/stacker etc., no longer manufactuer the drug due to fear of litigation. Ephedra is widely available now all over the internet, and when taken responsibly is a perfectly safe and effective supplement for various uses. |
It was "overturned" in a federal district court if it was sold with a <10 mg serving size. That went to an appeals court several years back where the FDA ban was upheld in its entirety. What is sold today as "Ephedra" in the US is Ephedra Vindis., which is a completely different plant that does, well, nothing. As mentioned before, primatene, brokaid, or similar have ephedrine, which is the functional equivalent (although slightly different dosage recommendations than ephedra). See www.hotnfit.com/ecstack.htm. Yes, it does work as a supplement, but don't expect miracles on its own. Some people also do react badly to it. |
Interesting, I stand corrected then. My knowledge on the subject is obviously a little outdated since I stopped lifting a few years ago already. Last I had heard was that someone in Utah I think challenged the ruling and got it overturned, I guess since then things have changed. That being said Ephedra has been around for thousands of years and has quite a few legitimate medical uses besides simply as a diet pill. They may have banned the sale of the drug when used as part of a weight loss supplement, but I just received an order of Vasopro in the mail this week with no problem, the same way I did when they stopped selling RFA in '04 or so. There is so much bullshit out there from people trying to pedal their snake oil all over the internet that it is sometimes very difficult to seperate actual fact from bullshit hype. I don't know anything about ephedra vindis, but HCL is most definately the real deal synthetic deravative.. |

I've used otc bronkaid to make my own ECA stacks, but it does have guifensen (Spelling?) in it that gives me serious cotton mouth unless I'm VERY well hydrated. Never had much luck with it as a fat losing pill, but it does delay the perceived onset of fatigue. This allows me to work out harder. Lately I've just been using a caffeine pill and an aspirin. |
Yeah, Vasopro contains ephedrine - same as available as in bronkaid, primatene, etc., not the herbal ephedra, only the latter was banned. You can actually get them OTC at pharmacies, intended usage is for asthma symptoms. I'd haven't really used it in a few years, except for a month or so back when I went on it for ~2 weeks during a "mini-cut", when I was on vaca and didn't have access to weights. I had trouble sleeping some nights, but in the past that usually only lasted a couple of weeks. |
