do you work out while you're still sore or wait?

If it's not injury soreness, working out will make it feel better.

Yes, you'll feel better.  Eventually you'll want to feel some soreness, means you're actually building.  I feel like an idiot for saying "no pain, no gain", but that is true especially after you plateau. YMMV, my .02, etc,

I'm not worried about plateauing just yet, I just started doing some different things. So there's no increased risk of tearing anything important?

conventional wisdom is; rotate body parts so that you "heal", before hitting that body part again.   If you are trying to gain size and strength; rest till you are not sore.  if you are training for a specific sport you will have to push your self through some level of soreness.  if you are training in judo (of instance) a lot of times you will still be sore for the next practice.

Keep in mind 2 things:

That if your muscles are sore they are not 100% and a injury will set you back farther than one day off; to rest.

you can go a long way after you are tired.

good question rest, water, diet?  and how long have you been training at it. it is amazing what the body and adapt to do, but it takes time.  Delayed onset muscle soreness,  is usually a symptom of really over doing it.

Definitely not hurt, probably overdoing it.  I work outside all day so when I do go box I'm already a little worn out. I do western boxing on thursdays(just got back) and thai on mondays. I'm a freak about hydration so I know that's not it. '

While my diet isn't perfect due to being on the road all the time, it's not as bad as it could be.

For a while I didn't think there was any truth to it, but I was really just a pussy ass chicken shit.  Doing squats while sore works the soreness right out of it.

I'd lift a little lighter if I was sore.  No reason to forgo exercising, but soreness is your body telling you it hasn't recovered all the way yet.

Google active recovery.  There are programs out there that deal with this problem of being sore after lifting heavy.  Usually they have you doing the same lifts at about 25% of 1RM, and run the reps up to around 20-25.  They will get rid of the soreness and stiffness.
