Anybody use them? I am thinking of ordering one 53lbs kettelbell and a russian workout tap. Any advice? Looking for something different, been doing the traditional weightlifting thing for over 15-years and it is getting old.

I'm interested too.  The most I've done are some snatches.

kettle grip

I do crossfit and it calls for the use of kettlebells fairly often. I just ordered one of these as I didn't want to spring for a whole set (man, a ball of iron ain't cheap!)

If you know any riggers, have them snag you some 25T and 35T shackles.  You can do the same thing with them.

Keep us posted on how those work.  I may get some if they work well for you.

I'm interested in trying one but I have no idea where to find them. I'm sure I could order one but shipping costs would be astronomical.

You can get lightweight KBs at most big-box type stores.  I even saw them in Target over the weekend.  Even though they are too light and the handles tend to be small, you can get idea of how the feel to work with.

For real KBs, take a look through http://www.board.crossfit.com/forumdisplay.php?f=10 for reviews of different brands of KBs and places to buy them.

If I may make a suggestion to you before you buy.  Unless you are in good, (underline that), shape I would suggest buying the next size down from what you think you might need.  I at first thought I needed a 53 but ended up buying a 36#.  9 months later and I'm just getting ready to buy a 53#.  It is exhausting work.  It is a heck of a great workout and a lot of fun.  Good luck.

Hmmm I might have to try some of these out.  Make sure to let us know how they work out and such.
