Been doing Krav for 18 mo. or so. Best money I've spent on myself. I wish I had started when I was much younger (now 45).  I agree that you need a good instructor. The instructor I have just goes balls out every class.

Train hard or get off the floor!!

I'm glad you've had a good experience. That's not always the case with KM, and that has mostly to do with the way they market it over here.

I have heard stories of "pay to teach" marketing strategies.

I was in a Krav Maga class at one time, and it just wasn't my cup of tea. This particular class was geared toward police officers, and some of the stuff just seemed too complicated for most situations on the street. I'm sure someone who has had extensive training could do very well with it. Also, I think the class being given only to leo's didnt help, everything was about weapon retention and disarming attackers. I'm sure most krav maga classes are better.
