| I have been working out at the gym for about 3 months. I have been making strides adding muscle mass and losing fat. Unfortunately a couple of weeks ago I got a hernia. I will have surgery on tuesday. I wanted to know if any of you guys have had to deal with this issue. My biggest question is how long before you could lift weights again. Basically what was your recovery time. and whats the long term outlook. Thanks. |

Well, when I had mine,(inguinal) they had to go in in three different spots and pull/push everything back in including the tube in my right testical. The recovery time was about 6 weeks for me. Yours may be different. Any type of exertion was strictly forbidden and I had no want to strain . I was in enough pain before and after. The first couple of days, the meds they gave me worked pretty good to kill the pain so I could get up and use the bathroom. That was about all I did for about a week. Get up and use the bathroom. Other than that,I stayed in bed. At 2 weeks ,I was able to get up and walk a little but couldn't sit with jeans on without serious pain. Slowly I was able to get back to doing things but when I went back to work, the pain of moving and doing what I did for a living was TREMENDOUS! I wish you the best and a speedy recovery. |
Well Coon I had the surgery tuesday. I had laporoscopic surgery. The doctor made three small incisions the biggest one which was near my beely button (the one he inserted the camera thru). I am sore but i have been on my feet and walking(when needed). Today I had to accompany my mom who is elderly to the dentist. It was a little uncomfortable but not extremely painful. The thing that hurts the most is getting up and down specially into a car. When the pain starts to get heavy I take a percocet. Yummyyy
