Anyone here seen an impact on training and recovery when comsuming alcohol. If so what form of drink. There seems to be consensus that red wine (like a glass) is good for you. Also, research says that one serving of any form of alcohol is good for you on a regular basis. Theory had it that we stres out bodies a lot and the depressant effect was good for you overall.

I have known guys that can lift in the afternoon and go out partying and get bombed yet still maintain a near ripped body.

I have to think having a beer while out with the guys is better than some syrupy cola drink.

Just so you know, Alcohol=calories. So the more you mix in there(Diff juices, sweets...) the more calories you are consuming. There is no way to really go lite when your drinking.

Total calorie intake - total calorie expenditure= A positive or negative amount of energy left over.

If today's number is positive the energy is stored as fat.
If today's number is negative the fat is burned to produce that amount of energy.

Calories=amout of energy produced when a measured amount of fuel (food) is burned.

Alcohol is a source of calories that is high in calories per ounce.

Does this mean if I drink a lot, I will look good in a skirt and high heels?  Or does it mean if you drink a lot I will look good in a skirt and high heels?

So, other than calories which can be accounted and adjusted for, no one knows of any adverse effects of the alcohol itself?

See my previous posts. I suppose it depends on how serious you are, but I don't drag myself into the gym each day to not get the most out of it.

I don't get "wasted" but if I cop a good buzz the night before I work out it doesn't affect me.I tend to drink beer mostly but a little whiskey is on call sometimes. I also am lucky to not have to worry about the calories. I'm blessed with what many call an "amazing" metabolism. 36 years old 6'2" 185 lbs. I couldn't be called ripped but I'm getting there.I work out 3 or 4 days a week about 1 1/2 to 2 hours a workout.I think it helps with my golf and shooting!! It makes hunting a hell of a lot easier to!!
