When's the last time you worked out?

Ran 2 miles last night, shadowboxed, did some rope jumping.  Probably the same tonight with a heavybag workout.

Been on light workouts for the last three weeks. Lower back is trying to go out again. It's hell being over 40.

Then again, it beats the alternative.

I ran 12 miles with hill work on Saturday. Took 2 days off like I always do after a long run. Easy week this week planned.

Relayed the Akron Marathon this past Saturday with a buddy.  He ran the 15 mile leg.  I ran the 11.2 mile leg.

I'm still sore.  7:30 miles on that hilly race course will do that for you.

About 1:00 pm today...weights, pushups and situps, followed by a 3 mile run that shouldn't have taken anywhere near as long as it did...stupid shin splints. Now the running and rucking have to be put on hold for a week or two

At 1600 today I ran 3 miles in 26:45. Not the fastest time around here but my fastest time in a long time for a 3 mile run.

Hardly ever workout any more. Once in a while I will jog a half mile or so. Maybe ride a bike.  I did rake up about 100 lbs of pine needles and bag them this morning.

Saturday I did some 12oz curls.

I do miss the day when I did (17:50 3 mile run / 20 pull ups / 75 situps) my best USMC PFT back in `73.  Several years back I was running regular and was able to do a 25 minute 3 mile run. Probably be lucky to break 30 mins now (if it didn't kill me).

Some time last May.  Did some trail running this summer.  Need to get back to it, but school, work and sleep needs keep getting in the way.  Have a doc appointment today for major leg pain.  Hopefully get back this week and do some upper body.

Jan 1996 - had a 3 month trial membership to Bally's

The place was a mess - even the carpet stank.

Back then I got plenty of a workout just doing my job.

One of the jobs was machining top & bottom surfaces on 90lb anvils. You load & unload a mill all day then you want nothing to do with "more" exercise.

I worked out today around lunch time.  I'm just getting back to it after not doing it for a year or so.  Been doing it again for a week or so.  It's hard to get started after being away from it for a while.  hinking.gif

3 sets or 15 rep dead lifts (cause my back is not strong enough dammit)

Push ups, sit ups, curls and flies every day (or almost everyday...).   Jujitsu twice a week 0630 to 0730 hrs in class of 5-7 other students, and once a week or every other week an hour by myself with per trainer working on my stand-up (striking).

Currently competition shoot w/AR once a month, want to start IDPA once a month (starting in Nov time permitting...).  Shoot at work (LEO) every week or every other week indoor range/pistol.

ps. Funny...I'm 37 yrs and I could KICK THE CRAP out of the 21 yr old version of me!  Mid-life crisis can work in your favor if you channel the energy...

Yeah I hear you. I'm 35 and we have 20+ yr olds coming in to roll. Sometimes some kid will come in totally jacked from lifting weights, strong as hell. Go technical on him, get him locked up in something, then the veterans all yell "USE THE MUSCLES, USE THE MUSCLES!!!".
