2025 1,000 mile running challenge (Page 2 of 24)
|
I got run off the road in November while training for a December marathon and rolled my ankle pretty badly 8 miles from home. I nursed and babied it for a few weeks enough to finish my slowest marathon ever with lots of walking from mile 17 to finish - 4:22:05 It still hasn't fully healed, but this year I WILL hit my goal of 3:45:00 and throw in a couple more 13.1s to prepare. |

I’ve only been flipped off once while running. Had a few assholes not move over. Thankfully, Haven’t really came close to getting run off the road. Roads are pretty rural out here. Were you able to get the plates of the person that did that to you, or was it not worth it? The wife doesn’t like when I go out at night on the weekends. @hellishhorses |

13.5 yesterday on the dreadmill. That was my longest treadmill run. Honestly it wasn't bad. I put up the podcast with Joe Rogan and Mark Zuckerberg and just kinda zoned out. The pacing of a treadmill is nice...but it still doesn't beat the road IMO. I'm at 60.5 for the year. Getting into the last 3 peak weeks of marathon training. I think I'll peak around 45 miles a week. My schedule, body, and mental wellbeing can't take much more than that. |

I'm in and just joined the GarminConnect group. I usually split my time with biking, but my 40 year old daughter decided that "we" should do a half marathon in March. Figured I'd drop one of my bike days and add a run day to up my mileage. Last year averaged 40 or 50 miles a month with no running goal other than fitness. I'm hoping with a running goal and added an extra run day, I might get close to 1000 for 2025. So far I have 25.1 miles for January |

The road is nice but The treadmill is almost cheating. No elements to battle, lock in a pace, podcast and don’t look down at the metrics. Good job on the lower body exercise 4-5 days a week. I’m lucky to get 1-2 hr total a week but I always know I need to do more. Keep it up, you’ll kill this marathon. |
|
10.75 / 88.25 With 20 minute and 16 minute blocks at about marathon effort thrown in. After three straight days of "streak keeper" miles and several more the week before that were much less than planned, it was good to get in a solid run and a good workout. |
Fear not the weapon, but rather the hand which wields it.

We live several miles from town and about thirty from the nearest dedicated running trails so I don't get a shoulder most of the time. I have reflective and light-up everything. 20/163 20f out and winds at 20mph. My phone keeps shutting off on the cold runs, there goes my podcasts. My soft flasks froze over at mile 10. So eating frozen gels was fun with nothing to wash it down. Running with no headphones is kind of fun. But, Sun was out and I feel good after logging a 65 mile week. |

To be fair, it was the mouth piece that froze on that run. The water/lmnt just got a little slushy which made it worse because I could hear and see the liquid, but not drink it lol. |

I didn't run last week due to sitting in my ground blind for the last week of an extended deer season. Antlerless and spikes allowed; archery. Last Monday morning, 6 bucks including a 12 pt came out to taunt me from about 40 yds out. Got more logged this week on the treadmill. For today: 3.4 / 28.8 |

For today: 3.4 / 28.8 I'm behind on the monthly goal, but I'll get there. My son is moving to San Antonio, so I may target the San Antonio Marathon. Race weekend: December 5-7, 2025 3.3 / 32.1 |
