Im a type 1 that was overweight also. I was on alot of insulin at one time. 148 units of humalog a day & 80 units of lantus twice a day.
My blood sugars where running in the high to mid 200's still. I  loss 75lbs in the last 6 months an eat a low carb diet an Im able to keep my blood sugars under 200 with just 51 units of lantus a day an cant remember the last time I used humalog.

Anyways I will be getting a gym member an need help figuring out a workout . Any tips or suggestions?

A great place to start would be getting Rippetoe's book starting strength and following his program. Bodybuilding.com has a ton of free programs and an app you can use along with it. Kind of depends on your personal goals to match up the right program. Congrats on the wight loss! That's a great start.

Edit: you may want to check out solace22's thread here to see his progress from sticking with his program.

Do the basic barbell lifts. Do some cardio. Keep your diet clean.

It really is that simple. Programs like Starting Strength or Stronglifts 5x5 will point you in the right direction. Cardio will help, too. But unless you're a pro athlete working out for hours a day, you can't burn off a bad diet.

Start out slow, check your BS and keep some carbs handy.

I walked into a 24 hour fitness, joined, and paid for 12 training sessions.
Best money I've ever spent....ever........maybe except for my HK USP, but its a really close second.
