I've been lifting 7 days a week for what seems like forever now, and now I have to take a break.
I smacked my elbow the other day, now I can't curl, row, dead lift or fucking anything, and it's driving me bonkers. I'm going to give it a week to rest up while wearing a forearm strap ... hopefully that does it some good. What can I do in the meantime? |

Why aren't you taking a rest day?
My elbow shit the bed on me last winter and I had to take both a week off, and wrap it super tight with an Ace bandage for a few weeks after that. It's actually getting sore again, but I'm trying to adjust a few lifts to avoid pissing it off. |

Maybe another day or two depending on the time of year and whatever is in season. I never really felt the need to have a real rest day, I never over worked myself to where I couldn't train the next day. Sorry to hear that. I'm starting to know that feel

I'm a 30 year old with the wear and tear of someone in their 40's due to work. All my joints used to be really sore until I started taking MSM, it helped a lot. After two weeks of it I felt 100% better all around, really helped with lifting too. I should be on glucosamine and chondroitin too, but I read a few things saying both may be linked to problems with people that have asthma, and I had it as a kid and still get the occasional flare up, so I do my best to avoid things that can aggravate it. My shoulder is a constant weak spot because of stint on a stucco crew for about two years. My elbows from work flare up easily. It's strange, some movements I can really push hard and go heavy, lots of the overhead movements I have to be very careful though or I can feel them start to get sore as the workout progresses. |
