Any of you guys using a GPS running watch? HR monitor would be nice. I'm interested in what you're using and how well it works. I have been checking out the garmin forerunner 220 and it looks promising. Any deals out there? |

I use the heck out of my Garmin 310xt, but it also pulls double duty as my bike computer. Great battery life and customizable screens for each sport. (It is designed for triathletes rather than running only.) Little less expensive than the 220 on Amazon (actually looks like its cheaper with the HR monitor than without). I'm drooling over the new Garmin 920xt, but the price is too much.

I have been checking out the garmin forerunner 220 and it looks promising. Any deals out there? You wont find any on the 220 as its the current model and they have MAP pricing. The 210 however, you should be able to find at a good price. What options were you looking for? |

Only a few upgrades happened between the two models. |

Are the GPS watches more accurate than running apps for your phone? Typically yes they are, but were talking percentages of a mile. The one thing to keep in mind though is this will add up over time and distance though. Check out DCRainmakers blog and website. Lots of good comparison info between brands and styles. |
| I use the Garmin forerunner 220 w heart rate monitor. I haven't used the heart rate monitor since my first run with it (have prob 100 miles with now). It would leave a red imprint around my chest and start to slide around with sweat. Although you may have better luck with it then i have. But the watch is fantastic and very accurate. |

Doubles as a regular watch with basic smartwatch features and all day activity tracking plus more tri stuff packed in
