The old Hydroxycut worked for me, but I wasn't impressed by the current line. Really, it's just an appetite suppressant combined with a stimulant. Take a couple konjac root capsules and wash them down with a Mio Energy or a Crystal Light Energy and it'll have the same effect, for a lot less $$.

Back when it had ephedra, it would make you feel like the koolaid kid.  About to bust through a brick wall.  The new stuff doesnt do that.

Well cheating isnt gonna help, and depending on how active you are 1200 may be enough to keep you exactly where you're at.

My chemistry teacher flamed a girl in front of the class because she said she could not lose weight. He said, "if you do not eat, you will lose weight. Period. If youre not losing weight, youre stuffing your fat face."

Try fasting as said, the first week is the hardest because youre stomach hasnt shrunk, but then youll want to eat less and if youre taking a couple day fast in between a couple days eating properly and light, youll start dropping the fat pretty quick.

I have said something similar to this to a fatty or two before.  When someone says they "can't" lose weight, even on a starvation diet, it's usually still garbage food, or they're lying to themselves about their actual intake.

1200 calories, 40 grams of carbs, and 90 minutes of cardio every single day for 8 weeks will work, guaranteed!

Edit: before I knew what intermitant fasting was I did it and it helps a lot.  work our before you eat your first meal, start your day earlier if you have to.
Also, L-Carnatine does work if you take the complementing suplements or a complex but it only works if you're doing 90 minutes or more of cardio while its in your system and your not fueling with carbs otherwise you're wasting money.

I am lifting every day and taking in a much protein as I can in that 1200 calories.  But yea, I a worried about muscle loss too.

Bump up your calories and start building some muscle. Lift heavy, do some conditioning work (I'm not a fan of long, slow distance, and in fact there's a lot of talk/studies lately showing that HIIT burns fat better than LSD).




Go eat some healthy food (no processed shit- eat meat and veggies), go lift.

I'm 31, 5'9" and around 186 right now. I'm not fat at all... at 175 and 5'10" I guarantee you don't need to lose weight, although you may need to do some body re composition. Starving yourself isn't going to accomplish that though.



Put on some muscle, eat clean, and do conditioning.

OP, you are operating under the false assumption that while restricting your calories to 1200 daily, you can prevent muscle loss by upping the % of protein in your diet

I didn't just one day decide to cut down to 1200 calories.  When I decided I wanted to lose the fat 6 months ago, I started cutting things out of my diet, then more things, and more things...and MORE things, and nothing worked.  Didn't lose a pound.  Finally I got down to 1200 and this *I think* is working.  There is a method to my madness, at least somewhat of a method, I think...

when aphedra (sp?)  first came out my mom tried it and had great results so I tried it.  the 1st week i was going to give it up because i thought i was on speed or something *yes, i took it as directed* .  my heart rate was WAY up and a 10 hour shift felt like 10 mins.  She didnt have anything like this happen to her so she thought i was over exaggerating,  but after that first week everything was back to normal for me. I was also exercising before I took it and continued while i took it.  The reason I took it was after 4-5 months of exercising i plateaued and just couldnt lose weight (i was at 230'ish and was at 205-210)  but after about 3-4 weeks on aphedra i was down to 180-185 (where i wanted to be).  I then stopped taking it and thats about the time they banned it because 600lb people were taking 2 bottles at a time thinking they would be at 150 lbs in a week.  *i stayed around 180 lbs for a year or so, then got lazy.  I have recently started exercising again because i am 250-255 (240 now).  I tried stuff with the "new" aphedra and i have zero results with it and have seriously debated a Mexico run for some of it.

Maybe that's where I'm confused.  I got the sense from your posts that you just started dieting 7 days ago and cut your calories to 1200.

To answer your initial question.  From what I've read the new Hydroxycut doesn't work.  The ECA stack will burn a few additional calories, suppress your appetite and give you some short-term energy.  

Bronkaid, caffeine pills and aspirin you can all get at a drug store.

I didn't just one day decide to cut down to 1200 calories.  When I decided I wanted to lose the fat 6 months ago, I started cutting things out of my diet, then more things, and more things...and MORE things, and nothing worked.  Didn't lose a pound.  Finally I got down to 1200 and this *I think* is working.  There is a method to my madness, at least somewhat of a method, I think...


You're missing the point man. If you want to look like that pic above you SHOULD NOT BE LOSING WEIGHT.

 



But it seems like you're not going to listen to us anyways, so just go do whatever you want I guess. We'll be standing by for the thread titled "Hey guys I weight 140 pounds and look like a concentration camp survivor, what should I do?"




And we'll tell you to eat more and squat.

We'll see how this works.  I am starting to slowly increase my intake, but only by adding healthy things.  Today I added a cup of skim milk and a can of tuna to the menu.  I'll stick with this for a week and see how it goes.  I am going to carefully monitor this every day.  It's not like a year from now I'll weigh 120 and be like how the fuck did I get here...

Why skim? You need fat. Drink whole milk.

There's too much sugar in skim milk.  It has the fat and protein reduced so the GI is an insulin spike.  It won't help you lose weight.

I think that while on a 1200 calorie diet, a cup or two of skim milk is not going to hurt me too bad...
