Until you injure it...

Flared up an old back injury from the Navy. It's great, bent over while sitting in the car to pick up the phone charger... Holy shit!!!

My whole back is fucked right now.

Haven't worked out since the end of June... I feel like a shit bag.

I have a multigun match next weekend and wanted to get to training for West Pecos Run 'N Gun in Oct... It's no good I tell ya.

Take care of your back guys!

I got a little overzealous with deadlifts yesterday and woke up to a strained lower back.  You don't realize how much you twist and bend until your back screams at you every time you move.  Hope you get to feeling better!  Ibuprofen and some ice gave me a little relief but I'm sure it is just temporary relief

I have had both a lower back injury and an upper back injury.

The lower back injury helped illustrate just how exactly your body works and the strength that must be in your back, rather the forces exerted on your back/spine, that you never even notice.

The upper back injury, a thoracic strain after 3 hours of being smoked during a physical training session, left me gasping for air and hyperventilating like a retard for almost 2 hours straight.   Couldn't take a full breath without having a spasm and expelling any air I took in.

Both sucked for entirely different reasons and both made it hard to stand from sitting or sit from standing depending on what i was doing.   Lower back injury made it hard to even lay down and relax enough to sleep.

I am a firm believer in core exercises above all else, if you're gonna exercise, focus on core first because if it goes you're gonna lose everything else you did anyhow.    After my thoracic strain I was in the pool every day for 2 months swimming trying to build up my core, among other strength exercises, to try and prepare myself for the next go around with the academy.
