Just move. My typical ironman Monday (a recovery day) was a mile-ish swim with a lot of buoy time and a very easy 45-60 minute spin on my bike. The ride was pretty slow for me - like 14-16 mph compared to 20ish mph on a typical medium-long ride. |

Have a recovery shake within a half hour of a lifting workout, with simple sugars and whey protein. Adding BCAA's and creatine will help also.
My new shake is one scoop of ON Whey, vanilla, a tbsp of brown sugar, and a raw egg, shaken up with a couple ice cubes. Its like drinking cake batter, so freaking good. Sleep, stretching, and moving around, take a long hot shower to get your blood flowing, all these things will help. |
