My doctor wants me to take fish oil.
Is there a brand that is better than others or are they all about the same? Does one not have an aftertaste? Thanks |

Do some web research. Various consumer organizations review fish oils from time to time. Carlson, Nordic Naturals and Costco's house brand are all pretty good. I use NSI––IMO they offer good value for the money.
You want Omega 3s––you already get more than enough Omega 6. Different fish oil supplements have different ratios of DHA to EPA, and the ratio may matter depending on why your doc wants you to take fish oil. At one point my cholesterol was high and my MD wanted to put me on meds. I got it back under control with only fish oil and Niacin. |

I generally just take the cheap stuff from Wal-Mart. I take a bunch of them at one time(generally 10 or so), so it is the most affordable.
I do like Carlson's fish oil, the lemon flavored liquid. The only problem I had with it is that I would forget to take it since I could not leave it on my counter. And if you buy the capsules, do yourself a favor and get the enteric coated ones. They do not give me fish oil burps like the regular ones. |

I take omega 3 for my arthritis, I have tried all the other OTC pills etc.. and none of them worked, this stuff really works
I will tell you this, don't take it on a empty stomach, eat something with it. otherwise you will get fish burb, which will leave a nasty taste in your mouth. they have time release capules now that elimates that. I am going to get those when my current bottle of 700 capsules are gone. |
