Backstory, I just graduated college. I'm 22 years old, and I'm no longer happy with my physical appearance.
I'm 5'10" right around 195lbs. When I started college, I was right around 5'9 160lbs. I'd like to get somewhere back near that size anyway. I've never worked out before. All my exercise before I started college came in the form of manual labor and yardwork. I lived too far away from school to ever really get started working out at their gym when I wanted to start back in High School, and my old man told me to fuck off and do more lawn work. I started the 100 Pushups Program last week and just finished week one today. I was wondering if anyone had any tips on helping my cardio and endurance and basically any other tips you guys have to give. The only workout equipment I have is some 20lb dumbbells and I plan on getting one of those pullup bars for a door frame. |

You can forge an amazing body with just body weight. The door pull up bar is definitely worth it though also.
Try this: Do the following 4 times: 20 seconds of squats, 10 seconds rest, 20 seconds push ups, 10 seconds rest. This will equal 4 minutes of work and 4 sets of each exercise. (this is a Tabata protocol, google it, very effective) When you feel good about that, do the above workout again then rest 1 minute then do the same thing but do pull ups and mountain climbers When you feel good about that, do the above workout again (both) then rest 1 minute then do the same thing but do lunges and russian twists (hold feet off ground a few inches, not clear in video) This will be a total of 12 minutes work with 3 minutes rest in between for a very effective 15 minute workout. When you get bored, substitute different exercises or do something different. You could do this 3-4X per week. www.fitnessexerciseblog.com |
