So for the past several years, I have been running a Tab Gear rear bag and loving it.  Recently I decided to attach it to my stock for stages that require lots of movement.  At my last match I was shooting a barricade and forgot to take it off.  We had a somewhat gusty day with a crosswind of 8-14 mph and with that heavy Tab Gear bag swinging on the back end of my rifle it cost me 2 points.  With the stress of time and the movement of that bag I was having the most difficult time removing the stupid QD attachment from my stock.

I am now looking to upgrade to something lighter and was curious what you guys were running and what benefits they give.

instead of letting it swing, just capture it between your forearm and bicep or body,
i use the super lightweight str8laced but they're not really available anymore.
maybe buy some of the micro poly beads online and just replace the fill in your tab bag?

Thought about refilling it with something lighter, but right now I don't have a machine capable of stitching it back.  Also my hand sewing skills are lacking.  Thinking of running my buddies shoot zero bags, but was just curious about the others that are on the market.

I'm currently running a Short Action Precision Lightweight rear bag (5 oz).  It has a strap with a QD swivel to attach to your rifle.  Check it out.  Also, take a look at their Run n' Gun bag.

Im using a couple of different bags. One from Ballistictech and one from Crosstac. Both are a little firm but are loosening up/

Huh.

So, the rear bag is more-or-less constantly attached to the stock with this system?

That's actually kind of an interesting concept...

I just bought the 2 round versions from Wilderness Tactical. Very nice!

That would be all of them unless the bag was over filled which most commercial bags are. That's why i make my own.

If having the bag on the stock all the time is what you want look at this option. It works very well.

What do you use to fill yours?  The poly beads seem to be heavy if you're looking to fill a larger bag (can weigh a few pounds).  What do these companies use to get their bags so light?

I use the poly pellets/doll fill for my rear bags. I don't find it overly heavy but I don't use large bench rest style bags. Just a sock sized rear bag.
