Does anybody manufacture an optic specifically designed for the .338?

Thanks!

what would be different about an optic for 338 vs other cartridges?

Nightforce NXS has BDC reticles ( velocity reticles) for a .338 LAPUA for a 250grain
but I would avoid buying any BDC reticle .

You're better off dialing to the distance you will be shooting  .
Another option is H59 reticle if you want to cut down on dialing all the time.

I would opt for something with a 34mm tube for the 338. Choices abound. S&B, Kahles, HD II, MK6, Henny.

^ This.  BDCs are not a good choice and are at best "gimmicky ". Dialing is a good method for precision. If long range is in your goals, Nightforce ATACR, S&B PMii 5-25 are solid choices IMO.

I would also take a hard look at the razor gen II I am very impressed with that optic and the price point it is at.

As everyone else has said skip the bdc. I'd get something mil based.
