Wondering if anyone had any recent experience with Bushnell's warranty. I'm sending my scope in and all I read are bad reviews, but their from 2-3 years ago. Have they gotten any better with customer service? Thanks

It depends. With the higher end stuff they've been pretty good from what Ive seen. The lower end products seem to be the ones that get kinda blown off from time to time.

Let us know how it turns out.

Yea I bought it like 9 years ago, its nothing special, but I hope they still will consider it. There is like moisture dots on the inside lens of the scope... its kinda weird, but I did take care of it not sure what happened.

I had a very bad experience with them. I had a scope that would no longer change powers- never dropped, never abused- spent it's whole life on a .243-about 25 years. It was not a cheap scope when purchased though not top of the line....They basically told me to pound sand on what I felt was a pretty clear product failure. I will never buy one of their products of any kind again.

If you had it for 25 years, it was a Bausch & Lomb scope, or should have been.

What was their warranty back then?

My buddy, on my advice, bought a Savage 10FCP and the SFP Bushnell Elite 30mm 4200 6-24x50 SF mildot and one day while at the range, the rifle tipped over from it's resting position and landed on the scope, bending a turret.

This was a pretty new scope, maybe a couple/few months old.  It was his fault and I told him to call Bushnell and see what they had to say.  They told him to send it in, he thinking that they'd repair it.

In a few weeks, he had a brand new scope.

I just dropped the cash on a Bushnell Elite 6500 2.5-16x42.  I haven't received it yet, but based upon reviews, I should be pleased.  Bushnell states their warranty on the 6500 Elite to be LIFETIME against any defects and a 1 year SATISFACTION guarantee.  1 year return?  I hope I don't need to use it, but this is very comforting when dropping so much cash.

It was a Bushnell Banner Lite Site. One of the very first illuminated scopes in the mid 80's or so. Like I said, at the time...it was not a cheap scope. I can't say what the warranty was back then in all honesty. All I can say is that I wasn't impressed with their willingness to make the problem right.

So 25 years after you bought a product from Bushnell, it broke?  You don't recall the warranty, but you expect them to either fix the scope for free, fix the scope if you pay, or give you another brand new scope?

I could see not having the parts (if needed) for a 25 year old scope, so if parts are required, you might be shit out of luck on that front.

Now...whether they should send you a comparable scope for free, would depend on the warranty at the time that you purchased the scope.

If it was a 10 year unconditional warranty, that would be pretty damn good, IMO, but you'd be out of that by 15 years.

No offense bud, buy you seem to be unreasonable, unless you know that your scope came with a LIFETIME unconditional warranty, which I doubt.

Just recently returned a scope for exchange.  Just wanted a different reticle.  It took a long time to process the refund, but once I started constantly calling, they got things fixed fast.  If you send something, send with tracking and keep the tracking number until you get your money.

Everything worked out, but things could have been smoother and faster.

Just for future reference, If you look on the warranty page of the Bushnell site it says that illuminated scopes are not covered by the limited lifetime warranty.

That means the illumination itself is not covered. Not the whole scope.

I had a rangefinder that I bought from a big box store that wouldn't work straight out of the box. They said that model wasn't supported anymore, I'd had it 4-5 months before I tried it out before a hunt, and offered to sell me a new one at full retail.

I won't ever give them another dime.

My friend sent in a 40+ years old B&L scope with life time warranty as lens went cloudy last year.
He told them no matter what he wanted that scope back as it had a lot of sentimental value.
They sent him his scope back with a little "r" mark on the bottom of the tube and a new Elite 4200 scope.

Earlier this year I sent in a 2 years old  Simmon's Aetec scope as the reticle seemed to move a little.
They sent me a similar new Bushnell Trophy scope as replacement within 2 weeks.

Bushnell is great in my opinion.

I had a problem. They stated all of their scopes have a limited lifetime warranty as long as it was not damaged or tampered with. Sent mine in and received a replacement within a month.

I asked the rep about this and he said that a lot of people claim to not have damaged the tube but when they test it they see clearly that the tube is bent, bell is bent, and or the most common...people over tightening the rings- crimping the tube.

I've had to deal with two warranty issues with Bushnell in last 2 years and both were great.
One was a 30+ y/o B&L scope which they replaced with comparable current model Bushnell scope and one was a broken reticle on new scope which they replace with new one immediately.
