Alright, I've narrowed down my choices to three scopes that I can get at dealer cost. Which would you prefer and why? Please include any personal experiences. I understand that the Sig isn't in wide cirulation so there's not going to be much insight on it. The scopes are:

-Burris XTR II SCR-Mil, 5-25x50mm, 34mm tube, FFP, illuminated

-Bushnell Elite Tactical ERS, 6-24x50mm, 30mm tube, FFP, illuminated

-Sig Sauer Tango4, 6-24x50mm, 30mm tube, FFP, illuminated

Thanks all. My experience with more mid to high end glass is with my ACOG and a US Optics fixed power that I had a few years ago. That US Optics scope would nearly bring a tear to your eye when you looked through it, sadly another one of those is not an option at this time.

ETA: Now with poll! Which apparently cut off some of the options. Oh well.

None of the above, because all my rifles are for hunting, and all of your choices are too big and bulky.

What rifle is the scope going on and how will it be used?

Very good question that I meant to put in the OP, but forgot. This will be going on an Ruger Precision Rifle in .308 (that may be rebarreled to 6.5 when the time comes) and will be used (at this time) to a max of 1,000 yards since that's what's available to me. I don't currently compete in competition, but I'm not ruling out the chances of doing some PRS comps in the future. My desire to have a tough scope that tracks correctly with better than normal glass. I'm not expecting Schmidt and Bender performance from any of these scopes.

Well this is a precision rifle forum not a hunting rifle forum so big bulky scopes are common.

OP I picked the Burris because of the 34mm tube, on the assumption that it has more elevation adjustment or, if it has similar adjustment, perhaps the internals in the larger tube  are more robust.

These are only assumptions, I don't feel like researching your choices.

That is true.
But the OP plainly stated, "which would you want on your rifle and why"
At that time he had not stated what it was going to be used for. Or even what kind of gun it was to be going on.
And why can't a presicion rifle be used for hunting ?  Would it be too accurate ?

Well I'm not a hunter, but I would assume they wouldn't be ideal for the same reasons you felt the scopes listed wouldn't be ideal. Too big and bulky.

Because it has a big bulky scope.

The Sig is made in Japan by the same company that makes a lot of the high end scopes, but I agree that I'm a little apprehensive to drop the coin without any real reviews.

I've read a lot of good things about the Burris XTR so that gets my vote

Thanks.  Given that use I vote for the Burris XTR II SCR-Mil, 5-25x50mm, 34mm tube, FFP, illuminated.  Solid scope.  Good reputation.  Lots of elevation range for long distance. The XTR II has been out long enough to know it is reliable.  Reticle choice is personal, but you have a good choice in mind.
