Need help on ring height, m700 sps short action, 308 cal, 20moa rail, vortex razor HD 5-20x50 35mm tube

| How low do you want it? Factory barrel? Objective diameter / 2 = the height the centerline of the scope needs to be to clear a barrel the diameter of your action. Add 3-5 mm to this for actual clearance. Then, subtract the height of your rail. This will give you the measurement that the rings need to be from where they contact the rail to the centerline. Most ring manufacturers provide this measurement. If they only provide the distance from where the ring contacts the rail to where it contacts the bottom of the scope tube, you need to add 17.5 mm. This all need to be converted to inches. |
