So I'm In the process of building a mega Maten and I'm looking for an optic to get. Ive been looking at the USO LR17 and the specs say its 15.5" long amd I was wondering if this is too long, like as far as clearance for the charging handle. Sorry if it's a dumb question

It would depend on the height of the scope.

The US optics ST-10 I have on my .308 with the caps is 13 3/4"  it's 1" in front of the charging handle.  Even if it was longer, I wouldn't have an issue accessing the charging handle due to the height.

I have my scope mounted in a US Optics Posa Slide & Lock MKII QD Mount.

US Optics doesn't offer that mount any more, but a call to them could provide you with the dimensions.

I hope that helps somewhat.

I was looking for specifications and saw that the height of the mount I referred to is 1.2" that is to the bottom of the scope ring, not the centerline.

I also wasn't familiar with the scope you mentioned, until I learned it's the new SN3 3.2x17.  That's the scope I have on my .308 bolt rifle.

What are the spec's, Mil or Moa, red, or green, T Pal or Ergo, which reticle?  I have the MIL-Gap and Mil-Mil, Ergo, Red, fantastic scope.

ETA I snapped a couple of pictures to show the clearance to the CH better.  The occular lens on my ST-10 and the LR-17 (SN-3) are the same, at least they have the same diameter lens cap.

I'm looking to get the same specs that you have. Mill gap, mil/mil, erek, red. After looking again the st10 is 12" amd the LR17 is 16.5". Thats 4.5" longer than the one you have, haha that would be a big beast on there. I'm still debating on weather to get the 10x or go with the 17x, I just want to be sure I have enough magnification. I plan on shooting 100-900+ yards. Targets ranging in sizes from silhouettes or smaller. Thankyou for taking the time to post that

You'll have more than enough scope with the LR-17 for that distance.

If you have a chance, try a 10X scope with good eyes that might be all you need.

With a designated target I can hit it with 10X, finding the targets in
the woods is where I need more magnification.  My eyes are getting old, I
need all the help I can get.

You might want to think about a 20 moa mount.  One of the good things about US Optics scopes is the ability to adjust the erector in the tube to gain more adjustment in elevation.

Another consideration is weight, with the LR17 you're going to have one heavy rifle.  I have mine on a TRG 22, it's a heavy pig anyway, the scope weight is to be expected.
