Was kicking around this idea of a large frame AR in 22-250 with a fast twist, say 1X7 or 1X8 twist to be able yo run the heavies.

What yall think??

Not the answer you are looking for but take a look at the 223AI while you are at it.  You will definitely get longer barrel life.

I shoot with a guy that has a bolt gun in 223 AI. Very Cool indeed, but I currently dont have a small frame :(

Sounds Like a barrel burner. I have kicked around the idea of a 6mm creedmoor.

It's basically a 22-250AI 30*. Barrel life should be 1500+.

I hear people always saying barrel burner for 22-250, if you're mag dumping yeah probably. I own a couple in bolt action an  have  yet to burn one out. Don't let the barrel get hot an  it'll last you a while.

The  .22 nosler should be right on the heals of the  .22-250. And still fit in the AR15 platform.
I agree that with the  .22 Creedmoor just a little more case capacity and you don't have to load it as hot so your pressure curve might be less. But that would be way too tempting.
I bet the  .22 Creedmoor would really get interesting with a 80 to 90gr bullet.

Olympic Arms made a .22-250 AR15.

They use a different lower and a special magazine specifically for the .22-250's slightly longer COL.

I think the 223 /6.5 Grendel based variants look the most practical and small frame AR
