Hey gents,
Long story short, I've been slowly getting back into shooting after new baby/selling my boat/etc. You know the deal haha. Like that? Short and sweet. My question is this: with a roughly $800 budget for a precision upper (either complete or I assemble) what am I looking at? Just picked up and new BCM lower and putting an SSA trigger in it. With $800-900 for an upper ( not including optics), I'd like to get something that is a solid sub MOA shooter (if I do my part). I'm going with 5.56 because I reload it. I'm sure this has all been asked at some point, but new products come out all the time so I made a new post. With that being said, here are my fairly simple desires. Hopefully you guys can help me with the rest: I'd like to stay at/under 18" barrel. I may use it at my farm for critters and such, so I'd like something thats reliable/durable if I'm toting it at my farm. Ranges up to 500yards tops. Mainly in the 100-300 range. Not going for some crazy Molon type build as that level of precision isn't quite needed even if I could squeeze it out of the gun. Doesn't need to be extremely light, I'm a big guy and an carry weight. I stated my budget earlier, so hopefully you guys can help. Thanks in advance! |
| Consider Stag Arms which sells a wide range of pre assembled uppers nearly all of which are under $800. The 3G has an 18" stainless barrel with either Samson Evolution or Diamondhead VRS free float handguards. The 3T-M has a chrome lined barrel and VRS handguard. The 3LEH comes with a red dot sight for $825. Check them out. They often have $50 off promotions to boot I have both a 3G and a 3T-M and am very happy with each. |
| I checked out stag previously and wasn't too impressed with their offerings. However the WOA has been on my list since the beginning. How does it compare to the BCM MK 12 uppers with the SS410 barrels? They're roughly $200-$250 more than the WOA, so is it worth the price difference? |
