Just paid 90plus dollars for a Larue 20rd mag due to internal dimensions.
The Hornandy 140 6.5 match are rubbing the tips in my magpul's.
So, am I nuts to keep my bullet tips pristine ?

Were the Magpuls affecting function? What do the tips look like after being chambered and carefully ejected? How far do you plan to shoot?

Just pushing down on the tips mildly, so function was ok.
After ejection, ok.
New build for 1000-1200yd shooting.

Just trying different mags out, along with several factory loads.

Try the AR Stoner mags from Midway USA for around $20.  They have a welded butt joint in the rear of the mag rather than an overlapping, spot-welded joint in the front like the DPMS mags, so you can load to slightly longer OAL.

Larue mags are $80.

I probably would have tried Lancer mags for almost half the price. Or even Brownells for more than half the price of a Lancer

Yes they are only 80 but tax and shipping.
Brownells 308 mags get bad reviews as do Stoner.
That comes direct from Brownells and Midways website.
Lancers are fine but same internal dimensions as Magpul, but I do like em.

These are all good mags, and their internal dimension.
LaRue 2.87"
Lancer: 2.83"
Pmag: 2.83"

Seriously, you have had good luck with em ?

I have alot of their 556 mags and they have been great.
But online reviews of the 308 are not good.

I didn't use the mag.  I measured what COAL would hold.  Being the same has my Pmags, Brownells mag was packed up & retruned to Brownells.

FYI, the internal dimension of my mag (an ASC, not ARStoner like I originally wrote) is approximately 2.86".  FWIW, mine has been completely reliable.  Just trying to save you some coin for ammo.  That said, I'm sure the LaRue is a kick-ass mag.
