I am now debating on the type of barrel for my m110 "clone".

DPMS lower
DPMS upper (low, new gen)
DPMS rifle length quad rail
DPMS LPK
Magpul grip (FDE)
CavArms C1 stock (FDE)

The Criterion barrels from F-A look like they are priced right and a decent value. I have Criterion barrel on an 1903A3 sportster and a re-barreled M1.

If I have the barrel and upper/lower/handguard cerakoted in FDE, do I want plain stainless or "grey"?

Any help is appreciated.

I had one in 6.5cm, it was a hammer.  I have had several criterion prefit for savage and a couple remage barrels, they all shot lights out and cleaned up as good as my kriegers and bartliens.  Also they seemed to be fast barrels, my 6br with 105@2925 and 243ai sent 105@3280, for instance. I would go with the target grey, more subdued then the polished version,  and would provide a better surface for paint.

Thanks for the feedback.

I am curious about the grey finish, since the barrel will get  a 120grit blasting before the Cerakote is applied...  I'll ask my refinisher what he would recommend. Not worth spending $20 on surface prep if its not going to be needed.

Yeah, If ur going to ceracoat the barrel then go with the cheaper surface finish from fulton.

I just got my F-A barrel yesterday and mounted it on my DPMS upper. WOW!!! It has some heft to it.

The chamber and bolt were not "matched" from a single source but headspace between them is in spec.

The m110 profile is lighter than a bull, but, heavier than SPR .... but still managable.

This is NOT a "jungle carbine".

Which one did you get? I am looking at one as well.

Here is my DPMS based M110 "clone". Clearly not exact, but I would never spend the money for a legit M110.  I used a Krieger barrel. I'm pretty sure Krieger makes the Criterion barrels or is at the very least involved in the Criterion barrel line.

The folk's I deal with are proud to tell you who made  the blank's.

Criterion was started by the Kreiger guys as a lower cost quality barrel that was sold in larger quantities.  They shared space in the Kreiger shop for years, but now have their own shop completely separate from Kreiger.

It should be a good barrel.

I have a 20" in 223 Wylde I bought from FA a few years ago. They are good to go. Shoots everything well from  50 to 75gr.  Every load is under 1" down to .3 on occasion.

Also have one on a savage in 260 that is spectacular. No regrets.

They are Krieger's button rifled division. They are just a lot faster to produce than cut rifled. Just like Rock Creek has there own button rifled division.
