I met and ordered my Ultra Light Arms Mod 20 rifle in .308 Winchester while attending the Shot Show in January 2013.  I had no intentions of ever putting together such a rifle, but after meeting Melvin Forbes and getting a chance to handle some of his work, I couldn't resist.  Being that I'm lefthanded, I've always felt that my choices in upper end productions rifles was significantly limited. From ordering to my FFL, it took just over 8 months to get it. I appreciate Melvin turning it around so quickly as it was a 50th birthday present to myself.

Rifle weighed in at just a little under 4.75 lbs as it came from Ultra Light Arms and still under 6.5 lbs after fitting it with a set of Warne rings and an illuminated Leupold VX-6 2-12x42mm scope. Rifle has an overall length of 39.5", 20" barrel and a 13.75 LOP.  I've carried for two Michigan deer seasons and one Texas hog hunt thus far and it's killed everything I've pulled the trigger on.

Great looking rifle!!

Melvin, and others, have created the Forbes Rifle Company in order to allow more shooters/hunters to afford the Model 20 and Model 24.

It is a thought to have a more limited number of great rifles instead of a boat load of entry level rifles.

Thanks for sharing the photos!

I'm not impressed by too much I see on the internet, but that is a really well-done setup.  I don't think I'd change anything on it for a hunting rifle.  Nice work.
