I pick it up from the gunsmith tomorrow. I had them torque the barrel on (tired of waiting on a TL3 action wrench) and cerakote the Zeus barrel. As soon as I find a 6.5mm 16” barrel blank I’m going to have a Grendel spun for it. I have a 6mm 18” Carbon fiber blank coming just haven’t decided on creedmoor or ARC for it yet. |

Is "Old School" allowed in this thread?  In the '80s & '90s myself and a couple of friends were building aluminum chassis rifles and painting everything, from camo to pink. These days I find myself building rifles more typical to the '80s & 90s.  This .284Win on a 700 action is from parts I had sitting around. 700 action from a gunsmith estate. Unknown barrel from a gunsmith estate. Unknown stock from....you guessed it.....a gunsmith estate. Japanese World Class Tasco 8-32x Ammo - Breaking the rules. Handloads from an auction. Attached File Two shots at 50 yards to confirm bore sight. Fifteen shots for groups. These are all rounds thru this rifle. After the first two groups, I was frustrated by a piss poor Timney trigger. Trigger replaced w/ a factory 40x unit and a pressure point in forend removed. Red arrow to first shot after work above, followed by four more. Attached File Need to return to range in the afternoon when the 100 yd target is not in deep shadows. Attached File I also shot my .218 Mashburn Bee and .263 Sabre, but those are Mauser rifles, so they can't be precision rifle in 2025.

 Wife’s new hunting rifle. Impact action, 20 inch bartlien in 6cm, foundation stock, trigger tech, apa and a vortex amg that I had handy. Wade Stutville is really close luckily and gets them to you in about 5 days. |

I finished up a new little toy. Q The Fix with a Thunder Chicken suppressor, 20" 6.5CM CF Proof barrel, and a Leupold MK 5HD 3 - 18. I will take it out this coming weekend and start breaking it in.

I took my 6.5 Fix and my daughter's 6 ARC mini Fix out earlier this week for a zero confirmation. Both have Proof barrels and I used factory Hornady 143 ELD-X in the 6.5 and 108 ELD in the 6. I shot off some bags and a mat in the back of my truck and was very happy with both, but I barely managed to keep the mini under one inch for the two 5-shot groups I fired. I think crossing wind gusts had started up by the time I shot it because the shots were stringing horizontally.

A TBAC Magnus-S RR came in for my AIAT, I took it out two weekends ago to start breaking in the new 6.5CM barrel. I'm going to take it out again tomorrow and keep working with it...

Kind of the best of both worlds. |

Mainly suppression being the top priority with recoil reduction a close second. I've been leaning towards the Magnus-S based on what everyone else has said. |

I use my S on calibers that use more than 35-40gns of powder so there is some gas left to make the brake effective. The K works great on my 223s and 6 Grendel. |

I certainly feel the recoil more but it's likely because it weighs half as much as the AI. |
