Thank you all in advance for being part of the world's greatest Siri for gun nuts.

The wife has major wrist troubles and is having surgery very soon. Long story (and lots of trial and error on my part) short, we have settled on getting her a Tikka rifle in 223. She loves the stainless aesthetics, so that's set-in-stone.

She felt the T3X Lite recently, and she thought it was actually too lightweight for her. She likes the slightly longer barrel length of their standard rifles.

We are replacing the stock as soon as it arrives, so I don't care about the T3X stock over the original T3. The only two benefits would be the bolt and the wider chamber opening.

All of that being said, is there an original Tikka T3 stainless .223 that is not a "lite" or "compact" anywhere on the market? Or should I fork over the extra money for a T3X stainless 223 (not a "lite" if I can't even find one). I'm kinda lost due to the extra weight she actually wants.

I think alot of us will have our wallet out if they release a CTR in 223. I am not sure Tikka has anything between the lite and the varmint in 223.

Well, I'm looking for the cheapest option to get a stainless 223. Would you go with the T3 or T3X if you're trying to stray away from the shorter barrel to add a little more weight?
Is there a stainless T3X in 223 without being a compact/lite?
Does the T3 stainless come in a standard length version?
Keep in mind, I'm getting rid of whatever stock comes on it.

I'd probably get a 223 varmint on gunbroker if I was in your shoes. Alternatively Howa makes some good variants of 223s in a variety of barrel weights including one sold without a stock. I think they are blued but you could always cerakote it and it would likely hold up better than SS

Another good caliber for her would be 6.5 grendel. There is cheap plinking ammo as well as match ammo available.
