Ya! Another new chassis option! I am actually likeing this one as i have always wanted a XLR carbon chassis with the 15 inch andguard and a 16 inch barrel. But i like the Howa 1500 over the remington 700, ( I still like them both, just i always felt that you get a better value for the money with a factory Howa 1500 than a modern Remington 700.) and XLR refuses to make their carbon chassis for the Howa 1500. MDT having a history of making chassis for the Howa 1500 there is a good chance i may get the rifle i wantt down the road. Abet probably with a 20 inch barrel and the 18 inch handguard. I will say the buttstock as usual with MDT chassis is butt ugly. If you can swap them out a XLR tactical buttstock would probably be perfect. |

I assume it will accept all AR15 grips. BCM makes a few that are much more vertical, I have them on my AR's. Quoted:

Not a bad price but I don't care for the grip angle. I suppose a K grip of some kind might work on it though. I assume it will accept all AR15 grips. BCM makes a few that are much more vertical, I have them on my AR's. I put a Magpul K2+ on my Savage BA Stealth (which uses a chassis made by MDT) and like it much better than the standard angle AR grip on a precision setup. |

I can confirm from an email i sent MDT, that the ESS chassis will be able to accept other buttstocks.
It is pretty awesome how many inlets they are going to do. I dont know about the grip angle, i dont have much experience with bolt guns in a chassis, mostly just traditional style stocks. I would have to shoot it first. But now the ultimate challenge, can they make one for a Swiss K31!?
Just kidding, i would never do that to a perfectly good K31. But it still would be cool to see. |

MDT ESS chassis
Well that is a nice little detail that most chassis makers dont do. The folding version of the ESS chassis is going to have a buttstock that fold to the bolt handle side so it will have a slimmer profile. It also seems contact points are polymer so you can use it in extreme weather comfortably. |
