I must living under a rock.  Just found and purchased a Magpul AICS magazine. Fits my Manners Mini Chassis perfect.  $30. Am I missing something?  I realize it is not an AI that came with the stock, but will do as a range mag.  Also carrying extra rounds for a quick reload.

Anyone have good experience with these mags?

My mistake. I bought a bunch of stuff at one time...$34.99. Sportsman Warehouse. In my home town.   I am sorry for the mis guided post.  I bought ammo, more PMags for my 7.62 and some cleaning stuff.

I cycled them with some .308 snap caps, seems to work good.  A little snug in my Manners Mini Chassis, which I believe is made by Badger.  But there are some YouTube videos on this issue and I will look at them tonight.  Regardless may be a good solution for a quality mag for back up loading into the rifle.

I am a big fan of Magpul...

The one I purchased is a 5 round. Now that I know it works, going back to get one or two more.  May opt for a 10 round as a back up.

Looking on the internet you can cut the tab on the follower and get another round.  Not good for hunting, but this rifle of mine is not set for hunting.

Update...pulled firing pin tonight and cycled rounds through the rifle, loaded to 5 rounds, no issues.  Did this with various ammo, BH 168, Remington 150, FGMM 168, Winchester 150

Bought the last 5 rounder they had today, the 10 round mags were $5 more and looked to be too long. May interfere with bench shooting.

They work just fine in my Badgers too. A little stiffer ejecting than the metal AIs but work just fine

These mags cycle the ammo smoother than the AI mags, will not drop free like the metal mags, but hey at 30% of the cost of an AI, I can live with that. Magpul quality can't be beat.

Please note, my comments are based on my shop bench analysis.  I am going to the range sometime this weekend to try the mags out under live fire, will report back then.

10rders arent too long. I've shot my rifle off the bench with them just fine. I oove my magpul AI mags. Feed nice and smooth.

They've worked great for me and allowed me to get within .010 of my lands on the ruger RPR. They also allow me to cycle the bolt when the gun is empty.

If they work, they are OK...

They dont function well in my McRees chassis'd 700..and they are restrictive in COAL. If they work in your gun, and all you shoot is factory ammo, then sure.

Did not make it to the range this weekend, too much grass to cut and yard clean up, so no actual range report, will try to get there this Friday.

Range Update:  Went to the range today, ran a total of 40 rounds through the mags,  absolutely no issues.  The mags fed perfectly, different selection of ammo.  168, 175 and 150 grain bullets.

I am going to buy some more of these for the range bag.

I have some and I love them.

Here is one downside to them that I can see.

With the 10 rounders they feed so smoothly that i can cycle and accurately shoot fast enough that I heat up my can.

and reloading is a piece of cake too.

I have 5 5rd and 1 10rd magpul mags that run with no issue. Sometimes a few do not drop free but I don't do any matches so not a concern. I cut the tabs on mine to allow 6rds.

I bought a couple of the 5 rounders to use with my 6.5 Creedmoor and 308 (soon to be 6 XC) Ruger Precision Tifles, they really smoothed out the action, that alone was worth the price of admission. Definitely recommended if your fun can use them.

Just ordered a 5 rounder from Midway for $27.99. Gonna try it out in my 6.5 Creedmoor, will order a few more if it works out OK.

Tried out a 5 and 10 rounder that another shooter had at a match back in august - fed better and ran smoother than either my Accurate mag or my AI mags

I have 2-5 round mags, they work great and are smooth as butter. I like that, on an empty mag I can single feed with no issues either.

[#25]
Same as everyone else smooth as butter, you'll think you missed the round the first few times. Works way better in my magpul chassi then my all MDT chassi and mag combo did.

Just tried the Magpul mag I recently bought from Midway for use in my 6.5 Creedmoor. My rifle has Badger bottom metal in it and the mag will not lock into the mag well. It looks like the feed lips are just a hair higher than the AI mag that came with the rifle. It's very close but it's a no go in my rifle. Disappointing for sure.

I can only report my own experiences. I have a Savage 10 6.5 Creedmoor sitting in an MDT LSS-XL Chassis. I originally was using two different Magpul AICS 5 rd magazines. With box I was experiencing failure to feed issues. I thought it might be the mags or something wrong with the receiver, so I borrowed a buddy's OEM steel AICS mags and had zero issues, fed fast and flawless. So my two cents, the extra money for the steel mags might be worth it, because there is nothing worse than a bolt action rifle that jams up mid cycle or simply doesn't actually feed the follow up round, meaning brass checking every shot (which is a total pain in the ass and very slow).
