Gent's,

Decided to pull the trigger on an RPR in 243 Winchester. The primary reason for going w/this caliber is because I already have 2 AIAE MkIII's - one in 308/7.62 and the other in 6.5 Creedmoor and wanted something different...just because

Anyway, I've already added some mod's as follows: APA Gen II little bastard brake, Badger 34mm unimount (0 moa cant), Bushnell HDMR w/Tremor 2 reticle, Ergo tactical deluxe w/palm shelf pistol grip, Harris 6-9 BRM-S w/pod-lock and QD ADM mount, BCM keymod rail covers, and a Magpul MS1 sling.

The trigger in this bad boy is fantastic! I've read a few threads and everyone seems to be getting around 2.5lbs - 3.0lbs from the factory. My rifles trigger is breaking exactly at 1.5lbs with 0 take up and the proverbial glass rod break! I'm not going to screw around w/adjusting it as, it's perfect & a super nice surprise to receive it like this from the factory. Well shit, pic's or, it didn't happen right.

If you reload, start with 40.0gr of H4350 under a 107 SMK. That gave me consistent .5-.75 MOA groups. Recently alemonkey and I shot at 900 yards and maintained sub 6" groups with his .243 RPR.

Mine was traded off to eventually fund a Bighorn.

Reloader 26 will launch a 105 at 3300 fps. If you're not shooting it in matches with velocity limits there is no reason to not go fast.

Do yourself a favor and drop factory stock for a Magpul PRS.  Makes a huge difference.

That is personal preference.  For me there is absolutely nothing wrong with the factory stock, other than throwing a wiebad cheek rest on it.

So there's nothing wrong with it, but you modified it anyway?

I prefer the PRS as it works great without requiring any modification.  Again, this is just my preference.

Please post pics of groups - I am looking to pick up one as well.  I'll either pick one of these up or go way overboard and have a rifle built in this or 6 Creedmoor.

Should be hell on whitetails and speed goats.

Personally I like the factory stock way more than the PRS. In fact the stock is the only part of my RPR that hasn't been replaced.

I'd prefer a soft surface on the prs too.

I love the RPR stock.  All I did was glue a piece of mouse pad to it for some cushion.

I prefer the Ruger stock too. How about a pic of that mouse pad mod?

I'm away from home now but not much to see, really.  Just cut a mouse pad to the same shape as the cheek rest and glued it on with some black silicone.

Reverse the cheek piece from the way it's mounted by the factory.

Far better that way.

With the Magpul sling? It seems like a positional sling would be a better fit.

Good looking stick

Thanks man...yeah, I had an extra Magpul laying around so, I threw it on there for now. However, I do love my TAB slings on my AI's, therefore, I may get one for the RPR as well? I'll see how this works first in my different shooting positions for my occasional plinking sessions.
