Is there any company that makes a left handed bolt action rifle similar to a Remington 700 (tactical target model or VTR). I don't want a hunting rifle such as a Tikka T3, or Savage.

Tikka makes the T3 Sporter. Probably the closest you'll get.

Savage has a couple models as well.

Remington has the left hand varmint model you could throw a different stock on.

What are you looking to accomplish here?

I'm a lefty. I went with a 24" barreled Tikka Sporter in .260.

AWESOME rifle.

Question:  why?

I don't chose left-handed due to the fact that it's creating reflexes for guns that don't exist for 99% of the firearm community.  For instance, if you only shot a left-handed AR, you'd be stuck if yours broke and you wanted to borrow your buddy's to plink/compete/SHTF with, ya know?

I'd recommend you look for a rifle that allows you to build reflexes using either hand, and/or learn to shoot on a right-handed gun first, so that you'll always have those skills to fall back on.

Just a thought though.  If it's your one, lifetime gun that'll be passed to your grandkids I can understand, but if you're ever planning on expanding or changing your lineup you'd have to re-learn on a new system.

As a lefty I agree with this post.  I buy my handguns ambi because I'm lefty and my wife is righty and I want her to be able to use whatever I use.  With that said, I've grown accustomed to my ARs that are built as righty (I do plan to change out my safety lever to make it ambi). I saw a Steyr Scout today at a gunshow that I think I really want to go after.  Ambi controls with the exception of the bolt action, which I think I could adjust to.

I follow the same shtf way of thinking you guys do. But if it gets that bad I'll pick up my AR. To me a bolt gun is not a freestanding rifle proposition for a righty and it's impossible for a lefty. Shooting prone or from a seated position I would like one so that your hand isn't smacking you in the face working the action for fast follow up shots, and you can stay on the gun as much as possible.
Maybe not tactical or practical but it works great given the current way of the world.

Honestly, for everyone talking about SHTF. If SHTF Im not taking my 16lb bolt gun with me. Its a non standard caliber (260) and heavy as shit.

If you cant run a bolt gun and know the difference between a bolt on the right or left or an AR, maybe you need to get off of here and start shooting.

If you say a right hand gun is better for a lefty, stop shooting prone and start shooting positional. This is a dumb statement and if it was true or had any validity at all then all right handed people would be shooting left handed guns.

End Rant.

Not sure who said that a right hand gun was BETTER for a lefty but I'm guessing you were referring to my post that you apparently didn't read well.  I guess it's dumb to not comprehend a post written in plain English.  And for the record, lefties are able to adjust to right handed EVERYthing because of the way things are set up for right handed folks. Right handed people (for the most part) will never be able to adjust to LH items the way lefties adjust so if the SHTF and you found a LH bolt action gun, go ahead and start saying your prayers because you won't make it.

End rant of a lefty!

I have no problem running a RDS on my AR right handed (as I am right handed) my AR is set up for ambi use. My problem is I had an eye injury as a child which required me to wear a eye patch  on my dominate eye my right eye. I am now left eye dominate (right handed) due to wearing the patch for so long so I must shoot a magnified optic left handed. I shoot my AR ambi pretty well with a RDS but when it comes to magnification it is almost impossible to to shoot right handed.  I also run my handgun right handed.  I would love to run a bolt gun right handed but like I stated above that I am left eye dominate which makes running a magnified optic damn near impossible. I understand if I train with a bolt gun right handed I might be able to become proficient with it, I just don't want to spend a bunch of money buying and building a right handed bolt gun if there is a quality left handed rifle out there. Thanks for the replies sorry for the mess of a question/answer this is.

I am right handed but left eye dominate. Thats my problem. My AR is ambi, I can shoot both right and left handed if Im running a RDS (no magnification). I shoot handguns right handed. I know Im all messed up lol, but this is the place to get some good info on what to buy/do. Thanks

Wasn't really talking to you outkast. Mainly they guy you quoted.
I read your post and my reading comprehension is more than adequate to post on arfcom.

Have a nice night, this shtf conversation is dumb.

I've seen some tactical models in 308 by Remington on gunbroker lately.  New old stock?  That said, I started with a lefty varmint model and built from there, because no tac models were available.

Savage makes some long range lefty as well.

Doing it over, I'd just start with a custom Stiller action in lefty.

Every time someone suggests that left-handers buy right-handed guns for whatever "reason", ask the righty how many LEFT-handed guns they've purchased for those exact same "reasons".

I'm a lefty and I stick to right handed guns.

Parts are easier and cheaper to source and I have my own system of working them that works for me. That said I can 100% understand wanting left handed guns.

You will probably be best served by finding what manufacture has the best aftermarket selection of left handed accessories. This will probably be the Rem 700 followed by Savage.

I compete with a left handed rifle. I'm right handed. The left hand action makes it so I can see the cartridge sled and into the chamber without rolling the rifle over and my support hand wraps around the right side without running into a bolt knob. Calling people stupid is not wise.

What sort of competitions do you shoot? Care to post a video of how you shoot? All I can envision is you hitting yourself in the face if you try to stay in position, meaning your head stays on the rifle and your eyes stay on glass or sights. Ive shot right handed rifles and under no circumstances were they better or advantageous in any way.

Calling people stupid is not wise.

Pretty sure I didnt call anyone stupid. I said it was a dumb statement. Its not better. Its not even better for a f class match where the rifles are sitting on a rest the whole time. A right port left bolt would make sense, but a right handed gun makes no sense.

I shoot PRS and High Power Metallic Silhouette and Smallbore Metallic Silhouette mostly. Recoil induced face smacking is an absolute non-issue. I shoot both left and right handed with the same rifle depending on which shoulder is the most sore (multiple breaks, surgeries and dozens of dislocations make them a bit sensitive). The thing that started me using a lefty rifle was that my fire control hand never leaves the pistol grip which means that you don't need to re-establish your trigger engagement which saves me 4-5 seconds per target. With light trigger competition rifles that's super handy. One of my rifles (admittedly a right bolt, right port .22lr Anschutz 54) has a 2-stage trigger with a 1 ounce first stage and a .5oz 2nd stage. It's something you want to engage the same way every time and moving the trigger hand makes that very difficult.

I don't have any videos of me shooting my lefty rifle. My video guy hasn't been available for months to do any work at my matches. I do have a vid of my coach shooting in the exact same pose though:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=DIT_PPZwtNc

Here's me shooting a right bolt gun using my right bolt hold:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UYMQcYbVDKE

Here's me shooting a right bolt rimfire gun designed for a fingertip hold. Note that this rifle is specifically set up for me to use with a fingertip hold on the off-hand. Targets are about 1.5 inches across and placed at 40m.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ykvJa6FqO9s

Here's me shooting my PRS rifle in a silhouette match (not a good idea) and using my left bolt hold on a right bolt rifle. This is the exact match where I decided that a left bolt was going to be better for silhouette.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SaANxDu-Tgk
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hYJNSoS84b4

Skip to 45 seconds to see Inez (a gal I compete against in silhouette) spanking the chickens using my left bolt hold. It's a common hold in silhouette shooting.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bt77nDffx9I

Here's something showing why the left bolt for right shooters is great. Me horsing around with my wife shooting at 675yrds in some swirling 10-15mph winds. Watch my right arm having to come off the fire control, roll my body over to the right, cycle the bolt and then re-establish body position, sight picture, trigger contact and shouldering. When I use a left bolt rifle I can maintain sight picture and trigger hand position (you'll see my instinctive finger forward and out of the guard after each shot) and keep the bipod loaded while my support hand comes off the bag to cycle the action and take care of loading, then it moves back to the rear bag and I'm already on target.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=43-MEIPBVKc

I'm working on getting some instructional videos for my youtube channel this weekend. I'll try and take one of my left bolt silhouette hold.
