Yo homies, looking to go down the custom route on a 10/22. It will end up in a Boyds rimfire hunter stock, unless you guys talk me out of it.

I want the 16.5" bead blasted .920 barrel. Single stage 1.5 lbs trigger bc I'm not going crazy on this. Prolly get the speed mag lever bc why not? No muzzle brake bc I'd like to suppress down the road. I like the scalloped bolt too.

What is the difference between the Kidd Build Kit and Kidd's Barreled Action?

Thanks and feel free to give me pointers, this will be my first custom rimfire rifle.

This is not the best forum to get quick answers regarding rimfires; you might want to check out rimfirecentral for that instead.

But if you look at the Kidd built kit description:

"Customers often need items to upgrade their current rifles but they don't want to purchase a new receiver (serial numbered part) or a new stock. This "Build Kit" is designed to help centralize all the upgrades KIDD provides for your current rifle."

That means the main difference is there is no receiver included, meaning you use your stock receiver; while the kidd barreled action is including the kidd receiver and you only need to add your favorite stock to have a complete rifle. The build kit is meant for upgrading your stock 10/22.

Go to the ABRA auto benchrest assiocion  site and check on a 10-22 build. They are using shillin barrels and tuners. I can't imagin the price being higer than the KIDD stuff.  I've had some KIDD parts in the past and was not impressed. I wasted money on one of their trigger packs. Over $200 for a gritty almost factoy felling heavy trigger. The guys getting the best accuracy out of them are not using Kidd parts.

Perfect, I overlooked that detail.

I have only been to Rimfire Central a time or two, I'll do more research there.

Thanks guys.
