Ok,
So I'm pretty sure I'm down to three choices. As much as I'd love an older classic like a 513T, the reality is that I would be buying an old and used rifle sight unseen. That's a gamble I just don't want to take. Realistically, whatever I buy will see more bulk-packs shot through it than match ammo. Now, my three choices are..... PWS T3 barreled action (I already have one of the cwa11is stocks ready to go) for $699 CZ455 varmint tacticool Anschutz 1416 D HB So, all seem to have pros and cons (not so may cons though).... The PWS intrigues me, and from what few reviews I've seen (one of the only negatives I can think of....not a lot of reviews) it's a hell of a shooter and it is compatible with the 10/22 aftermarket. The CZ is, well, a CZ. I have a 452 Varmint and it's awesome. I do like the ability to change barrels with the 455 so I could upgrade to a Lilja later on if I feel the need. My 452 has shown excellent accuracy with all ammo I've fired through it, and I don't see that the 455 would be any different. Anschutz. There's not much more to be said really. Only thing is I'm not wild about the longer barrel. While I understand that it would most likely beat the other two firing match ammo, I'm not so sure if there would be much of a difference shooting bulk pack...certainly not enough to warrant the extra cost. But then again, it's an Annie. |

My CZ 455 Tacticool with 16.5" barrel is still sitting in the box
so I can't say anything regarding accuracy. Weather and my health have been terrible so it may be I have to wait for spring and better health before I can post targets. I can say both the 5 and 10 round polymer mags feed without a hitch. The trigger, as it comes from the factory, is better than my Savage M93 Accutrigger, but not by much. The traditional bluing is nice but may put off those who want a tactical matte finish. If you do invest in one, I would recommend the CZ rail accessory, it will enable you to use Standard rings making it easy to move the scope to another gun which may not have the 11mm dovetail. The gun exhibits quality everywhere one looks, however, the factory digital target is nothing to rave about. It was shot with RWS target grade at 50 yards on the CZ indoor range, it is roughly 1 MOA. I'm hoping with better ammo it will shoot well below that. Ted |

I have a CZ 455 Tacticool that I use as a trainer and for our local Tactical Precision Matches. I agree with everything stated above. However, I would encourage you to install a Yo-Dave Trigger for your CZ455. The difference will be remarkable. I will post pictures of mine this afternoon. YEah that's a given . I have a Brooks setup in my 452 and its awesome |

If Anschutz is the question Anschutz is always the answer.
Anschutz 1416 d hb with the bevertail forearm, or the 64 MPR. if it's gonna ride bags. Or just the 1416 D hb if bipod is your thing. Time you buy a 455 and rebarrel it your close toAnnie price range. Plus the 2 stage trigger is far better than any 452/455 trigger out there. Cabelas has 1416d hb for +/- $1060 with tax with the two stAge trigger on clearance. I had a 455 and sold it to fund a 1415 d after I shot a Annie 64 MSR. |
