Ive killed a lot of deer but this is my my first cross bow kill.  I had given up the hunt and pulled out my cell phone to call work when I heard him coming.  Shot him from about 15 yards sitting by a stump with about 5 mins of legal shooting lime left.  He ran about 30 yards before giving it up - should be good eating + I still have my buck tag

Thanks for the comment on the pic

It may be overkill to some, but I usually end up taking about 30 or so pictures just to get the right one.  It really does capture the moment better, and they are pictures you can be proud to show anyone.

Here's another:

Tagged out this evening, two days before firearms season opens. It wasn't my proudest moment by any means. A small buck was harassing this doe, and right as I was triggering my release, the buck lunged at the doe. She turned to look back at the buck as soon as the arrow was in flight, and instead of hitting her in the vitals, I hit her dead square in the neck.

Gosh dang your a killin mofo, I would be inclined to let that slick walk though, sure looks tiny.

Good for you!  I killed #5 last week myself and did the same.

I think I let her walk the weekend before.

She was alone in heavy brush, so I had no other does to compare her size with. No problem though –– I donated the meat to a local food bank.

Good deal, Not judging you by any means brother, Just had a good chuckle at the pic when I seen the ATA on your bow was longer than the slickers height all together
We've all been in your shoes, they all eat good.

I was solo so all I have is a crappy cell phone pic but here is a video if the small 8 I shot on Friday. The video was taken  last Wednesday. Not a huge deer by any account but it is my first deer I've ever taken with my bow.

It certainly was a rush. It's funny, because you watch all the hunting shows and they shoot a buck and the guy is always talking about how he's shaking and that. I always thought they were just playing for the camera/being over dramatic... But sure enough the second I shot that doe the shakes set in. Something about being so close, using a primitive (sorta) weapon, and waiting things out replaying the shot over and over and over - it's all a very powerful, and unique high. Now I can't wait for my next go 'round.

Already posted this in the deer hunting forum, but I figured I should put it here too.  Shot this guy tonight right at dusk from 35 yards, he's a small 5 point, maybe 120 lbs.  shot him with a tenpoint Titan using carbon express bolts and NAP spitfire extreme mechanicals. He was quartering away and the shot went in pretty far back and came out his chest, did an amazing amount of damage he dropped right away.

Noting amazing, but it's my first deer and it's pretty exciting for me!

Finally got the pics back from my dad.  That's my mom's cousin in the background anonymously.  He helped drag about 75 yards until we got to the trail for the Kubota.
