Please post photos of your bow kills from the 2014-15 season. I'm anxious to see them.
It is not so much for its beauty that the forest makes a claim upon men's hearts, as for that subtle something, that quality of air that emanation from old trees, that so wonderfully changes and renews a weary spirit.

AZ cow elk.  Got her roughly at 40 yards. Shooting NAP Thunderheads.

Congratulations, BarW, on your first bowkill. May you get many, many more. Welcome to the site.

talon370, great job on the elk as well. Too bad deer are as big as it gets around here.

First kill with the new bow. This morning started off rough. First, I didn't want to get out of bed when the alarm went off. Then an easterly wind narrowed down my stand site choices. Walking into the woods in the dark, I got turned around and once I realized that daylight was fast approaching, I just climbed the first straight tree and hoped for the best. I was drenched in sweat and not in the spot I had wanted to be, so imagine my surprise when a small 6-pointer showed up under my stand shortly after dawn. After he left, this nice doe showed up, and I arrowed her at 20 yards. The Lord certainly works in mysterious ways. I was angry because things were going against me this morning, and look, the "wrong" spot and conditions turned out to be the right ones.

This was my target buck this year...he came through following a group of 11 doe, one spike, he presented a 9 yard shot directly below me.

some weeks later......

I had to take a doe in my county before I could shoot another archery buck and I actually had this guy walk within range a few times before I was offered a shot on a doe. I grunted him in two times the next morning and got him to offer a 12 yard broadside shot...ran 20 yards.

Not my biggest by any means, but I've got a bird dog puppy needing lots of work and attention, so I couldn't hold out all year.  Anyway, I'm happy with him. 9 points, big mature body.

Haven't had a lot of time this season between work and personal stuff going on. Got in the woods for the second time this evening. 15 yard broadside in low light conditions. Rage hypodermic put her down in 60 yards. Excited about some chicken fried backstrap!

Yup. Big flat spot about the size of a nickel.

The last buck I shot out here had a very noticeable crooked nose.

Must be some brawlers around here

Yeah man that makes the euro mount even cooler. You know he was a warrior. Imagine the monster that did that to him!!!

Got a doe to fill my freezer. Almost had a buck, but instead of coming down my shooting lanes he decided to run after a "hot young thing" and didn't get close enough. Was a NICE big 8... Alas, having two deer to drag back to the truck would not have been fun lol. So it worked out.

Not as impressive as a lot of the deer on here, but it's my first archery kill.  I was using a crossbow tonight, not my regular bow.  Nice fat little doe came in, standing perfectly broadside at about 15 yards. After the shot, she didn't run more than about 30 yards, the 100 gr 3 blade Muzzy did quite the number on her. Double lung and heart were both sliced wide open.
